Inspiration

As someone who works on interactive workflow editors and cross-platform applications, I was frustrated with repetitive, linear storytelling in mobile games. I wanted to create a dynamic, AI-powered experience where every story feels fresh and personalized. The Bolt one-shot prompt challenge was the perfect opportunity to build something innovative that removes those same boring stories users are tired of. What it does

Unifactory is an interactive story generator that creates personalized choose-your-own-adventure experiences. Users select story themes, make choices that dynamically shape the narrative, and watch AI-generated images bring their stories to life. Each playthrough is unique, with Gemini AI crafting contextual story branches and Flux Free model creating matching visuals.

How we built it

Built entirely with Bolt.new in a single prompt session, leveraging my experience with API integration and fullstack development. The app uses React Native with Expo Router for cross-platform compatibility, Gemini API for dynamic story generation, and Together AI's Flux Free endpoint for image creation. Modern UI design ensures smooth user experience across devices.

Had to make sure I created the entire app in one prompt, so I had to add all the required information into the single prompt.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created a fully functional AI-powered game in a single Bolt session. Successfully integrated multiple AI models (text + image) with seamless user experience. Achieved responsive design that works perfectly on both mobile and web platforms. Built a scalable story system that can generate infinite unique narratives.

What we learned

AI model orchestration requires careful prompt engineering for consistency. React Native deployment with modern Expo Router has specific configuration requirements. User experience design for choice-driven narratives needs intuitive UI patterns that guide without overwhelming users.

Community features for sharing and rating user-created stories. Advanced personalization using user preference learning. Multiplayer story modes where friends collaborate on narratives. Premium AI models for even higher quality content generation and expanded story genres.
