Inspiration
Pandemic left many lasting changes. Education was one of the most impacted. Our classrooms became virtual. This made us think about the possibilities of the Universal class - a social network of people connecting together to share knowledge.
What it does
The universal Class is a social website where teachers/lecturers from different universities across the globe can share the meeting/classroom link to their virtual class and any person from around the globe can learn the topic that is being taught by the teacher/lecturer. This could bring a diverse set of college/school students and faculty together and build a great community. Universal Class, in plain words, is a social network for students and professors.
How we built it
We have built a website that contains information about different classrooms on different subjects conducted by different professors. A professor can make a post in which they can share the classroom information. This classroom information will be made available to all the users.
Challenges we ran into
We had trouble connecting the website to the server. Yet another challenge we faced was to work online and in integrating the different web pages together in a short time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of finishing the work in time and overcoming the challenges and getting our project to how we envisaged it.
What we learned
Firebase connections. Using REST API JavaScript DOM manipulations
What's next for Universal Class
Cross-Platform compatibility across other platforms like Android, iOS. Improving features provided like preference changes, making it more like a social network where users get to follow each other.
