Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from the weekly problem of finding people to sell your tickets to if you are not attending the event yourself. There are numerous group-mes and group chats for exchanging tickets for football games alone, and our team wanted to change that.
What it does
Our web app allows the user to sell a ticket by putting it out in the marketplace where others can view it. They must first sign in and fill in their contact information which is going to be used as point of contact for potential buyers to reach them through in the future.
How we built it
We built it using Firebase and React, as beginners with the 2 of us knowing a little bit of web development and 1 knowing almost nothing.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges we ran into was the logic errors we kept on making with React. As a component-based language, its logic and mechanics are completely different from most languages and it was not enough time at all.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of some of us learning our first web development concepts and others stretching our capabilities by challenging ourselves. I have learned we all have so much to learn and room to grow, but are also capable of doing many great things.
What we learned
We learned the benefit and difficulties of advanced frameworks like react and backend database technologies like Firebase.
What's next for UTickets
We would like to expand to more variety of events we can host tickets for and keep helping the pepole.
