We came to this hackathon without an idea, believing that the spirit of a hackathon is best experienced with a new idea. We decided to use the Sabre APIs that were presented at the keynote to make a simple vacation planning service for spur of the moment decisions. We allow the user to enter some basic criteria or use our smart defaults to find a round trip vacation. Using Sabre's flight availability data, we turned to Kayak, to let the user choose their desired flight service provider and book their flights. Vacationroulette is target toward anybody who wants to take a quick vacation without having to go to the effort of doing a ton of planning.
