VeriCam
In the not so perfect world that we live in today, journalists, activists and people alike struggle to gather and securely share verifiable visual evidence. Check out VeriCam, the easiest way to capture and share verifiable photo and video proof from your smartphone. VeriCam automatically attaches metadata to all of the photographs you capture and uses radar.io's incredible tools to get an accurate estimate of where the media was first captured. The metadata is then pushed to the blockchain to generate a unique hash which can be checked by anyone to verify that the media is correct and remains unaltered.
What's Next
While VeriCam has the potential to change up how news rooms and courts of law around the world operate as it would allow much citizen generated data to be validated and used to counter conflict, it can also assist in a lot of other things like allowing users to document their own proof in things like car accidents.
Challenges We Faced
Due to the hackathon being online and us building an android app on android studio, it was really difficult to collaborate with each other and work on the code together. As a result, we weren't able to finish development for the app fully so those are the next steps.
