Problem
The Australian people are disengaged with politics because they don’t have a strong voice between elections.
Some people are uneducated on key issues that will effect them.
Solution
VoxPop is essentially Tinder for political issues and policies. We are engaging the Australian public opinion and handing the power back to the people. With VoxPop Australians can respond to critical questions based on current policies being discussed in the Australian Parliament. By swiping right they can agree with the statement or respond yes to the question and by swiping left they can disagree or no. Using the upper swipe bar they respond strongly and using the lower swipe they respond mildly. We have used Google Polymer for the display and interaction logic and the Play web framework for sending and receiving voter's submissions.
Target Market
The target market for our app is social media savvy Australians from early 20s to late 30s. Number of people in each segment of market and their current spend?
Competition
In Australia, the key competition currently would be GetUp which although not politically affiliated does appear to have a politic agenda. ¬¬They currently have broad engagement with their campaigns on both social media such as Facebook and through their website (which demonstrates some interest in the market). GetUp does not poll on issues using a simple mechanism such as our swipe and question based app. Our product is quick and easy to interact with and provides the user with instant feedback on how they compare to the politicians and the rest of the nation.
