Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from the noble deed of being a good neighbor and citizen. In a world where it is easy to lose sight of all things good, having someone there during times of need means more than a thousand words. Additionally, doing good brings happiness to not only one's self but to others as well. We are passionate about creating a greater community by providing people with accessible means to do good.

What is Waddle?

What does it mean to create a stronger community with Waddle? Waddle, an online platform for people who want to make a positive impact on their local or global community, allows users to create a Waddle account and sign up for volunteer efforts based on their skills and preferences. Other than being a volunteer, individuals and organizations with a Waddle account can host events and opportunities for other community members to see.

Front end: Html, CSS, JavaScript

Challenges We Faced

Our team faced challenges in coming up with a brand name and consideration of volunteer safety regarding event creation.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

For the majority of our team, HackUTD is our very first hackathon. We are proud of our collaborative work and positive attitude throughout the hackathon. Through collaboration, we effectively utilized our skills and learned new ones to create a project we're proud of, Waddle.

What We Learned

Our backend team learned how to connect to a cloud server in Python through an SSH client, while the frontend team enhanced their skills in JavaScript and Flexbox. Collectively, our team learned how to work together efficiently to bring our product to fruition.
