Inspiration

All credit for the concept and idea goes to Code for Cause and WeCommunity, who administered its creation.

What it does

The app allows users to create or view resource drives for their communities. They may also view a map which displays nearby drives.

How we built it

We used React to build the frontend user experience for the application. That side connects to a Firebase database for the backend. The app also integrates with the Google Maps React API to visually display resource drives on a map.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing both the Firebase backend and Google Maps integration was quite tricky, with our attempts constantly failing until we finally got them to work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a beautiful UI, with a working Firebase backend.

What's next for WeDrive

If we win this, we may be able to partner with WeCommunity to further develop our application. We may add better user and drive customization features.
