Inspiration

We saw this challenge for making an "instant-win" type of game that gave us this idea of making a "spin the wheel game" with some RPG references

What it does

The player clicks the wheel which then can have multiple outcomes such as hitting for damage, missing, and free spins. A fully fleshed out version would have features such as, multiple enemies, "all or nothing" before moving to the next enemy, prize calculator, different wheels to choose from, victory and defeat animations. This can be scaled up by adding different options, improving the damage of the wheel, choosing different wheels, etc.

How we built it

We built it as a Unity 2D project and used several tutorials to work on different parts of the game such as, health bar, spinning wheel, spin counter, menu, characters and background.

Challenges we ran into

This is our first hackathon, first time working together, first time working fully online, we had a quite a few challenges to include, our lack of experience using GitHub, collaborating online, resolving Unity conflicts, and connecting the work together.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first hackathon, first time working together, first time working fully online, we had a quite a few challenges to include, our lack of experience using GitHub, collaborating online, resolving Unity conflicts, and connecting the work together.

What we learned

We learned how some of the basics of, C#, Unity, GitHub, finding and using game assets online, finding and using tutorials and resources.

What's next for Wheel RPG

We want to finish up the game so that it fully works from Start menu, to game, to game over screen. We want to add additional enemies, animations for the damage, sounds for the damage, an "all or nothing" feature when moving to the next enemy, high score bar, and scenery changes.
