Inspiration

After finding out women need to qualify 100% to apply for jobs versus men needing 60% to apply, we want to decrease the gap by providing a website with tools and resources to build confidence in the process of applying for jobs.

What it does

The demo takes you to a supportive resource that walks you through the job application process– from a readiness calculator, resume builder, HireLens, and what to expect through a hiring process. Testimonies from successful women in tech will help users build confidence in themselves to join the #WhyNotMe movement!

• We are proud of how efficiently we created the demo.

What we learned

• We learned how to work with a team and divide the workload to execute the project together.
• Understanding everyones perspectives as well as expanding our own.

What's next for Why Not Me?

• Improve the demo into a debugged, fully functioning website.
• Host peer-led resume reviews and mock interviews.
• Add real testimonies from women in tech.
• Use the interactive #WhyNotMe to start a social movement using social media.
