WorkMan

Inspiration

To create a user friendly interface for users to allow them to book and manage their equipment repair requests.

What it does

WorkMan aims to assign a customer the earliest available technician specialising in the requested equipment.

How we built it

Python Flask and CockroachDB for the backend, React for the frontend

Challenges we ran into

Integrating cockroachDB with the traditional ORM tools

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create the basic structure of the web app, with a user and worker login with the CockroachDB database.

What we learned

To create an MVP in a limited time frame, and to approach difficult problems approximately

What's next for WorkMan

We would like to improve the worker selection algorithm by considering factors like location and facility max capacity. We would also like to add Twilio to send notifications to users and workers about upcoming appointments.
