Inspiration

The inspiration comes from someone that I know of, who is currently facing issues due to depression as she tends to have too much workload from demanding bosses, resulting in her lacking time to seek proper mental health treatment and 'me' time. Therefore, I created this app as a way for busy adults to seek mental health support on the go.

What it does

The app provides a secure and private space for users to express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Through journaling, users can release any anger, frustration, or stress they may be experiencing. It also includes a collection of 10-minute meditation audio playlists, each designed to help users relax, reduce stress, find inner peace, and facilitate making new friends and chatting with existing ones. Numerous scientific studies have proven that forming new friendships and maintaining social connections can significantly reduce stress levels and improve overall mental health. We offer a safe and secure platform for users to connect with like-minded individuals, share their experiences, and provide mutual support.

Challenges we ran into

Creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface that seamlessly integrates journaling, meditation, and social features without overwhelming users is a key challenge for me. Another challenge is the struggle of fostering a safe and welcoming environment for users to connect and share their experiences.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Contributing to the destigmatization of mental health by providing a safe and accessible platform for users to seek support and engage in self-care practices.

What we learned

Striking the right balance between journaling, meditation, and social features is vital. Overloading users with too many options can lead to overwhelm, so simplicity is key.

What's next for WorryLess

Establishing a more structured feedback loop with users to continuously refine and adapt the app based on their needs and preferences.
