Inspiration: Millions of Indians miss out on government benefits due to language barriers, misinformation, and complex processes. YojanaSaathi was inspired by the need to make government services simple, accessible, and trustworthy for everyone. What it does: YojanaSaathi is a multilingual AI platform that helps users find eligible government schemes, detect scams, and access verified updates. It acts as a digital government companion for both online and offline citizens. How we built it: We built YojanaSaathi using a React frontend, Node.js backend, and Gemini AI for multilingual intelligence and scam detection. APIs power scheme discovery, document guidance, language handling, and real‑time responses. Challenges we ran into: Handling accurate multilingual responses and structured AI outputs was a major challenge. We solved this through prompt engineering, strict JSON validation, and frontend‑backend syncing. Accomplishments that we're proud of: We successfully built a working multilingual AI assistant that simplifies complex government information. Our scam checker and scheme eligibility flow directly address real‑world problems faced by citizens. What we learned: We learned how to design reliable AI systems that are user‑centric and inclusive. The project taught us the importance of trust, clarity, and accessibility in civic technology. What's next for YojanaSaathi: We plan to add voice support, Aadhaar‑safe personalization, and deeper state‑level scheme coverage. Our goal is to scale YojanaSaathi as India’s go‑to AI platform for public services.
