Inspiration

Our team was inspired by the challenges students face when navigating the vast array of educational and career options. We wanted to create something that simplified this process, offering personalized, actionable guidance to help students make informed decisions based on their unique goals and backgrounds.

What it does

Zoodu is an AI-driven platform that helps students plan their careers by providing:

  • Personalized Career Advice: Zoodu tailors recommendations based on the user's background, aspirations, and educational interests.
  • Educational Pairing Suggestions: It considers different educational pairings, suggesting the most effective combinations for a successful career.
  • Generative AI: The platform uses advanced AI to analyze data and provide customized guidance, making career planning easier and more efficient.

How we built it

The development of Zoodu involved multiple key steps:

  1. AI Integration: We utilized Generative AI to create a system capable of analyzing users' data and offering personalized advice.
  2. Web Development: The frontend was designed using modern web technologies to provide a clean and intuitive user experience.
  3. Collaboration: Each team member contributed their expertise, from AI development to UX design, ensuring Zoodu is both powerful and user-friendly.

Challenges we ran into

Throughout the development process, our team faced several challenges:

  • Personalization at Scale: Ensuring the AI provided meaningful and personalized advice to students with diverse backgrounds was a significant challenge. We had to fine-tune the model to consider various factors while keeping recommendations accurate and relevant.
  • User Interface Design: Balancing the complexity of AI-generated recommendations with a simple, engaging user interface required multiple iterations. We aimed to ensure that users could easily interact with the platform without being overwhelmed by the depth of the data.
  • Data Integration: Integrating various educational and career data sources was crucial for Zoodu’s functionality but posed challenges in consistency and reliability.
  • LinkedIn API Issues: While attempting to integrate LinkedIn’s API, we faced problems due to its unmaintained documentation and limited access to necessary features. The API would work initially but break down after a few uses, leading to setbacks in pulling professional data effectively. This issue hampered our goal of providing a seamless integration with LinkedIn profiles.
