The DIF Hackathon 2024 is Now Live!

Greetings to all participants in last year’s DIF Hackathon,

We're excited to announce that the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF) Hackathon 2024 has just been launched! This year we have tripled our number of sponsors and amassed a prize pool of ~70K USD.  

This hackathon offers a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of innovation. With challenges spanning education, reusable identity, travel, and ZKPs, there's something for everyone interested in shaping the future of digital identity.

Deadline Extension + Important Categories Update!

Hi everyone,

Great news, we've extended the hackathon submission deadline to Sunday, December 3rd at 11:45pm PT.

We wanted to make sure you know that you now can submit your project to more than one judging category -- you can edit your submission as needed to be sure you'll qualify for the judging categories that you are intending to enter.

DIF Hackathon Office Hours!

Hello Hackathon Participants,

We just had two awesome weeks of live educational sessions and there's still plenty of time to get hacking. Most session are now on YouTube with more to come.

In this session Ontology's Head of Community, Humpty Calderon, will lead us through Ontology's ONT ID challenge, offer tooling and answer questions from hackathon participants. You won't want to miss this fun and exciting session!

The Challenge: Build a Web3 app using ONT ID. If ONT ID can be applied in an app that solves a real world privacy and data protection problem it will score higher.

Next Week at the DIF Hackathon!

 

With four weeks of hacking left, there's still plenty of time to form a team and submit to the DIF Hackathon. This week we had some great sessions including an Intro to DIDs with Markus Sabadello, an Intro to Veramo with Mircea Nistor and an Intro to Trinsic with JP George.
