Congratulations go to Harry Woodhams; Millie Tune; Eve Davies and Kimberley Larcombe (all at Queen Elizabeth School, Wimborne) and Katherine Chapleo (Parkstone Grammer) for reaching the highest level on Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.

We are rightly proud of their efforts and contribution to their local communities and environment over the past 12+ months.

That’s a decade of picking up other people’s rubbish and making a positive difference in our own communities.

To celebrate our Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr. Anne Filer treated 22 DDvolunteers to a special reception in her Parlour at the Town Hall to recognise this achievement and thank our volunteers/residents for their efforts over the past 10 years. Nice touch and much appreciated by all including some DofE candidates.

It’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award time again and Dorset Devils are all set to welcome BCP youngsters wishing to do litter picking as part of their volunteering element towards Bronze and/or Silver. Great choice- want our assistance and tools for the job? Max and his dad did and now he has just started his litter picking adventures.

Children could make necklaces and bracelets out of bottle tops, guess the quantity in the big coke bottle and generally talk rubbish. Also, Mums and Dads found out we support the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.
