Dates

  • Registration Opens: 7 July 2025  
  • Registration Closes: 16 July 2025  
  • Notification of Shortlisted Teams: 18 July 2025  
  • Hackathon Dates: 1 – 2 August 2025  

Eligibility

  • Open to all undegraduate university students, including incoming Year 1 students and full-time National Servicemen that have already matriculated (Must have an university-issued email address, usually ending with .edu.sg or for NUS Students @u.nus.edu)
  • Teams must consist of 4 – 5 members (No restrictions on faculty)
  • Individual sign-ups would not accepted and individual submissions would not be considered for judging

Project and Submission Requirements

  • All projects must be built during the hackathon period
    • If there is any evidence that projects are built outside of the hackathon peroid, your team would be disqualified
    • This includes any previous hackathon submissions or projects from other programmes such as HEAP 2025
  • All submissions must be uploaded to Devpost by 2 August 2025, 2:00 PM (SGT)
  • At least one team member must attend the opening briefing in person on 1st August 2025
  • All team members must be present on 2nd August 2025 for pitching
  • Teams whom have not shortlised but still proceed to submit a project anyway would not be considered for judging

Code of Conduct

SMU .Hack, which is organiser of .HACKathon, is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of the following:

  • gender
  • gender identity and expression
  • age
  • sexual orientation
  • disability
  • physical appearance
  • body size
  • race
  • ethnicity
  • nationality
  • religion
  • political views
  • previous hackathon attendance or lack of
  • computing experience or lack of
  • chosen programming language or tech stack

 

We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate at anytime and this includes the following:

  • hacks
  • talks, presentations, or demos
  • workshops
  • any parties associated to the hackathon
  • social media
  • any other online media

 

Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or disqualifed from .HACKathon at the discretion of the SMU .Hack.
