DSET is much more than an event. It is a community that works throughout the year to enable networking, identify opportunities, exchange of ideas and best practice. DSET also provides a peer-to-peer engaging environment that produces results to current challenges for all participants, Military, Government, Academia & Industry.
The annual event provides a Military and Government driven agenda. This is at the core of our delivery and part of our uniqueness. It is critical for every participant that the user leads on their challenges. Military, Police, Medical, Fire and Government come to DSET to engage and resolve current and future challenges, and find capabilities or answers.
Focused on Training, Education, Cyber, AI, and Simulation and related technologies in Defence and Space, DSET offers extensive opportunities for connecting the MS&T community, encouraging innovation in an inclusive way.
The annual event is Hybrid, providing a virtual hub, with live streaming, networking, expo booths and more, bringing in participants from around the world into one space.

The annual event, with Military driven agenda, has evolved to a hybrid format that provides a virtual hub with live streaming and networking, expo booths, and additional virtual events to keep the conversations going. DSET offers extensive opportunities for connecting the MS&T industry and encourages innovation in an inclusive way.

“We are already well aware of the value of DSET in simulation, education and training, and the genuine difference between DSET and other conferences. DSET already offers a more inclusive sense of community where it is possible to have an intelligent conversation around the topics presented, and is the only conference we regularly attend where the organisers set out to proactively ask the user community for their views and their current issues, rather than merely putting out a passive “call for papers”.
DSET has also set an example to others in the sector for much greater diversity in speakers and presenters, including female international senior officers, and participants for the BAME community. There is very good evidence from social science and in the field of cyber education that a diverse group generates better quality decision making and a greater range of actionable alternatives than a group of white males. This is therefore very welcome in a field where the majority merely “take the presenter they are given” and perpetuate the status quo.”
