Common questions

A few things people usually ask before getting started.

Custom formats are scoring rules that Radarr and Sonarr use to rank releases. They match against release names using regex patterns and assign positive or negative scores - letting you automatically prefer or avoid specific codecs, sources, HDR types, groups, and more.
Yes - Dumpstarr is a database, not a standalone tool. Profilarr reads from it and handles pushing the formats into your *arr applications. You can find Profilarr at its GitHub page.
No - Dumpstarr is an independent community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or maintained by the official Radarr, Sonarr, or Profilarr teams.
Updates are pushed as needed when formats require fixes, new release conventions emerge, or new formats are added. There's no fixed schedule - Profilarr will always pull the latest when you sync.
Absolutely. Open an issue or pull request on the GitHub, or bring it up in the Discord community. All contributions and feedback are welcome.
The best place is the Discord server - head to the support channels and someone from the community will help you out. You can also open an issue on Forgejo for bugs or format problems.
