We are receiving calls that users connecting to our RemoteApps service via Windows 11, that have recently been updated to version 22H2 are having issues with the connection seeming to hang.

The cause of this issue is the latest 22H2 Microsoft update that has been install on their machine.

Whilst Microsoft investigate issue further, which as you can understand we have no control over. The link below, documents how to remove the 22H2 update from your machine. Whilst we do not recommend this, nor advise this, by all means please feel free to pass this onto your IT Support Company who can run it at their own risk!

How to uninstall Windows 11 22H2 – Pureinfotech

There are other options for carrying out registry edits to address the problem, but these are not recommended to be left on the machine as a permanent solution. These registry changes can be found : Microsoft investigates Windows 11 22H2 Remote Desktop issues (bleepingcomputer.com)

The account that you logon to RemoteApps is working fine, it is unfortunately down to the rogue update that is blocking the connection.

We have had clients that have followed either of the above instructions and are now back up and running successfully.

If you do wish to either remove the update, or run the registry changes, but have another machine without the latest Windows 11 updates on, then please do feel free to contact us and we can setup the RemoteApps connection on this machine.

As soon as Microsoft address this issue, we will update this notice.

If you have any further questions or queries, please call our helpdesk on 02476 667 337.

Best regards

Craig

A cemetery grave map is very important. It allows visitors to accurately locate their beloved ones, it helps the local cemetery to organise the arrangement of additional graves, and it allows researchers to explore burial sites as well. Cemetery records allow us to record historical information and the details of a specific grave for future generations.

Now that we have entered the digital age, it is very important that we transfer existing records away from paper-based recording and to a more up-to-date digital system. Cemetery mapping along with modern cemetery management systems can create a digital database that properly records burial records and locations to make mapping cemeteries easier and more efficient.

In this article, we will explain how cemetery mapping works in the digital age, and how it can offer a better option than paper records.

Mapping Cemeteries

When cemetery mapping by hand, it is important to have a good understanding of the layout of the cemetery before starting. This can be done by looking at a map of the area or by visiting the cemetery in person. Once the layout is understood, it is then possible to start mapping out the individual graves. This can be done by marking each grave on a piece of paper or by using a GPS device to track the location of each grave.

Cemetery mapping can also be done using GPS technology. This can be done by either setting up a GPS device at the cemetery or by using a mobile phone that has GPS capabilities. Once the GPS device is set up, it is then possible to track the location of each grave. This information can then be used to create a map of the cemetery.

Cemetery mapping can be a useful tool for those who are looking to navigate a cemetery or document the layout of a cemetery. It can also be used to help with the planning of funeral arrangements.

With digital cemetery maps, you can have detailed information available without the risk of losing it. New burials can easily be added as well.

How To Map Unmarked Graves?

There are a few ways that you can go about mapping unmarked graves. One way is to look for old cemeteries that have not been maintained and see if you can find any graves that are not marked. Another way is to ask around your local community if anyone knows of any unmarked graves in the area. Finally, you can use online resources to try and locate any unmarked graves that might be in your area.

If you are looking for old cemeteries that have not been maintained, one place you can check is the local history society. They might have records of where old cemeteries were located. You can also check with the local authority in your area. They might have records of old cemeteries or graves that have been dug up during construction projects.

How Does Cemetery Software Work?

Cemetery software is designed to help cemetery managers and staff keep track of grave locations, interments, and other important data. This type of software typically includes mapping features that make it easy to see where graves are located, as well as tools for tracking funeral arrangements and managing customer information. Cemetery software can also help with billing and accounting tasks, and some programs offer features specifically for pre-need planning.

A lot of people are interested in tracing their history, whilst we live in a hyper-connected society, it seems more than ever we are losing touch with our heritage and history. As a result, people are trying to retrace their ancestral footsteps, which means they need to locate burial records to find out where people lived and died, when they died, and much more. A burial record can reveal a lot about a family tree and death records are an integral part of that process.

In this article, we are going to explain how to find burial and cremation records online and offline, to help you with your family history research. After all, knowing a family members final resting place and what their memorial inscriptions stated, can bring closure and help to establish a family tree. First you need to find the burial registers though and that can be tricky.

Where Can I Find Cemetery Records?

In the UK, most cemeteries and crematoria will have some kind of register or database that you can access. This will usually be held at the office on-site, or alternatively, you can contact the local authority that manages the cemetery. The local history department of your local library may also have copies of these records.

When tracing your family history, you may have to contact a local cemetery to enquire about their cemetery records. They can give you the grave details, some burial records and other records are now available online and you can gain access to them through specific websites.

Note that you may need permission from the individual burial authority when asking for records.

Where to Find Cemetery Records Online

If you’re searching for online records of your ancestors’ graves, websites like Deceased Online offer searchable records by name, the year of birth, and year of death. This database includes statutory burials, which is when a local authority arranges the burial where there is no next of kin available.

It is also possible to find details of a specific person’s death and burial/cremation location by simply searching on Google using the name of the deceased and words like “death” or “cemetery”.

Once you’ve found the burial location, the next step is to check with the cemetery to see if they use advanced software like Epitaph. By integrating with HeritEDGE, Epitaph provides digital cemetery maps and a user-friendly grave search tool. This allows visitors to see their exact location and the grave’s position in real time, making it simple and stress-free to locate graves.

Some tips for searching cemetery records:

  • When searching for an ancestor, try different spelling variations of their name.
  • Use initial letters rather than full first names e.g. ‘W J Smith’ instead of ‘William John Smith’.
  • If you don’t know the name of the cemetery, try searching for a street name, village, or town name instead.
  • If you are looking for someone who died a long time ago, try searching ‘paupers graves’ as these were often unmarked.
  • Contact the National Burial Index.

How to Find Cremation Records in the UK

A common question is ‘how can I find Cremation records? Cremation records in the UK are not as widely available as burial records, but there are still a few ways you can track them down.

There is no central database for cremation records so we always advise members of the public to contact the crematorium local to wherever the person has died and see if they are able to provide any information. You will need to know the name of the deceased, the date of death, and the place where they died. The records are free to search online but there is a charge for copies.

A lot of family history research can be done online now and you can find details of the deceased online but you will need to know names, date of birth, and other details that can help you to clarify that the individual is the correct person.

You could have two people with the same name in the same crematorium, so you need as many details as possible when looking through burial records.

The Problem With Burial and Cremation Records

The issue is that there is no clear rule for locating burial, cremation, and cemetery records. Different countries store them differently, different time periods had different methods and as a result, you always have to be a proactive searcher.

For this reason, here at EDGE IT Systems, our Epitaph software offers real solutions to many of these issues. It is a comprehensive cemetery management software that allows cemeteries to keep online records in an easily accessible format. If you’d like to learn more about Epitaph or discuss how it can help, contact us today.

New land developers need to know where to develop next and how to record where they have recently buried someone. Finding a solution to this issue is a lot easier with Epitaph – management software for cemeteries and crematoriums.

Epitaph offers solutions to management issues and problems. In this article, we are going to take a look at what plot management software actually is, and how it can help your service.

There are a few different ways that you can go about finding a grave in a cemetery. Depending on the age of the grave and where it is located will affect how hard it is to find; however, in this piece, we are going to take a look at some of the steps to find a grave.

Steps to Finding a grave

Here are some of our recommended methods for finding a grave:

1) Collect information about the deceased, like birth and death dates

Find their birth and death dates as well as their full name. Knowing when they were born and died will give you a timeframe in which to look for their grave. If you have this information, try looking up the cemetery’s website or giving them a call. Oftentimes, they will have a database of everyone who is buried in their graveyard and can tell you exactly where the grave is located.

Look for death certificates, death records, death location, burial information, and other records. Anything that can give you a clue about the area and location. With enough persistence, you will find the grave.

2) Check for recent burials first

If you are looking for a more recent grave, start by checking the most recent burial records. The cemetery office will have this information and can help guide you to the right area. If the person was buried within the last few years, their grave should be easier to find. It can be a daunting task so if you can rule out the areas where the grave is not, then you have a better chance of locating the exact location.

3) Look at a map of the cemetery

Many cemeteries will have a map that you can use to find specific graves. If you cannot find a map, ask the office for help. They may be able to give you a printout or even show you where it is on their computer system. There can be many graves to look at, so work out which areas relate to what time periods. Knowing when your ancestor died, and other vital information can help you to locate what area they are more likely to be in. A death certificate or other vital records are really going to help.

4) Search for old graves

If you are looking for an older grave, it may be harder to find. Start by checking the oldest section of the cemetery first. If you still cannot find it, try looking through records at the local library or historical society. Just keep checking the grave site to find that final resting place.

5) Speak to family members

If you are still having trouble finding the grave, try speaking to other family members. They may have more information about the burial or be able to tell you where to look. Sometimes, family members will even visit the grave themselves and can give you specific directions.

A family member could have the death certificate, family tree knowledge, cemetery information, or other information about the deceased.

6) Check online resources

There are a few online resources that can help you find a grave. Try websites that let you research your family history, and you can find key information about a person’s grave from them alone.

7) Get in touch with the funeral home/cemetery

If you are still having difficulty locating the grave, get in touch with the funeral home or cemetery directly. They can often help you to find exactly what you are looking for.

Whatever method you choose to use, it is important to be patient and persistent when trying to locate a grave. Remember that each cemetery is different and will have its own way of organising information. If you cannot find the grave you are looking for, try speaking to someone who works there or searching online. With a little bit of effort, you should be able to find what you are looking for.

Issues with trying to find a grave

There are a few different issues that you may run into when trying to find a grave. One of the most common problems is that the grave is no longer marked. This can happen for a number of reasons like the grave never had a memorial in the first place, but it is usually due to time or weathering. If the stone is old, it may have been worn down by the elements or covered in moss or lichen. If you think this might be the case, try looking for a metal plate with the name and dates. These are often placed next to the headstone and are easier to see.

Another issue is that the cemetery itself is no longer in use. This happens when cemeteries are full, abandoned or relocated. If this is the case, it may be difficult to find any records of who is buried where. You can try searching online for old cemetery records or speaking to the local historical society.

Finally, you may run into problems if the person you are looking for was never actually buried in a cemetery. This can happen if they were cremated or their body was never found. In these cases, it is often best to speak to family members or close friends to see if they have any information about what happened to the person.

No matter what issue you are facing, there are ways to work around it. With a little bit of effort, you should be able to find the grave you are looking for.

How to better manage grave records

If you are having trouble managing your grave records, you can do a few things to make the process easier. One of the most important things is to keep your records in order. This means that all information should be organised and easily accessible, preferably on a computer database.

Cemetery software is a great way to keep track of your records. This program can help you search for records of graves, burials, and other important information. It is essential to choose a program that is easy to use and understand, as this will make the process much simpler.
