Dr. William Cawthorn

Will is a Senior Lecturer and Principal Investigator at the University of Edinburgh in the Centre for Cardiovascular Science. His research focuses on exploring novel roles of bone marrow adipose tissue in health and disease. Will is passionate about research culture, science policy and communication. He is the University of Edinburgh Open Research Ambassador for LERU (The League of European Research Universities) and the local network lead for the UK Reproducibility Network. He is a strong supporter of the Edinburgh Open Research Initiative.


Emma Wilson

Emma is a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh in the CAMARADES research group. Her research focuses on evidence synthesis. Emma is an open research enthusiast and has previously helped to develop training materials for the UK Reproducibility Network. Emma co-organises Edinburgh ReproducibiliTea events.


Fiona Ramage

Fiona is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Edinburgh. Her research uses meta-research methods and automation to synthesise preclinical research of several psychiatric disorders. She only recently joined EORI (mid-2023) but is keen to use her experience founding and running the University of Dundee branch of ReproducibiliTea during her PhD to continue contributing to the Open Science and reproducibility debate and engaging more early career researchers.


Francesca Tinsdeall

Francesca is a first-year PhD student at the University of Edinburgh in the CAMARADES research group. Her research focuses on the qualitative and quantitative synthesis of evidence relevant to psychiatric disorders, and utilisation of this data to inform drug selection for clinical trials. She is keen to raise awareness of open research amongst undergraduate students. She is the social media coordinator for Edinburgh ReproducibiliTea


Joana Dimitrova

Joana is currently pursuing her MPhys Astrophysics degree at the University of Edinburgh. She is keen on promoting public and societal engagement with open and FAIR research, and has previously helped increase awareness and provide training in good research practices for a variety of audiences.

Alex Colety

Alex is in his 4th year of BSc Ecological and Environmental Sciences in the School of Geosciences. His recent experiences working in Research Support spurred his interest in Open Research and FAIR data. Alex is especially interested in making high-quality research accessible to those who might benefit from it.
