On November 7th, we proudly hosted the 2024 annual meeting of ESBS Austria (Electronics and Software Based Systems Austria) at EBNER Leonding. This event brought together 50 esteemed guests, including influential representatives from the Austrian Federal Ministries of Climate and Energy (BMK) and Labor and Economy (BMAW). Key funding bodies such as aws, FFG, and SAL, as well as leaders from the semiconductor supply chain, including Infineon, amsOSRAM, AT&S, and AVL, were also in attendance. As the newest member of ESBS, this was a fantastic opportunity for EEMCO & FAMETEC to connect with the network of Austria’s electronics and semiconductor-focused organizations and to position ourselves as a key player in the European semiconductor industry.

Throughout the event, we were honored to present EEMCO & FAMETEC’s contributions to the supply chain for advanced semiconductor production, particularly our work related to silicon carbide and sapphire-based wafer technologies. The event included a series of presentations, where Stephan Puxkandl and René Hammer shared insights on EEMCO & FAMETEC’s key projects, including our involvement with the IPCEI Mikroelektronik II. These discussions underscored our position as a “root” of semiconductor production, supporting European goals through both the Chips Act and IPCEI initiatives.

Guests also took part in a guided tour of our facilities, where they gained a firsthand look at our crystal growth operations, a core part of EEMCO & FAMETEC’s role in the semiconductor supply chain. The positive feedback from attendees was overwhelming, with several high-ranking participants expressing their appreciation for the level of innovation and quality demonstrated by our team.
