VŠE, for which the Faculty of Business Administration submits data for evaluation, has been climbing the rankings for several years. It broke into the top 50 last year.

The evaluation methodology takes into account, in particular, the quality of study programmes and the university’s performance in other Financial Times rankings published throughout the year. The final score is therefore significantly influenced by the excellent score of the Master in International Management/CEMS programme for future elite managers, which ranked 17th worldwide and 14th in Europe in the September ranking of the best management programmes.

According to Jiří Hnilica, Dean of FBA VŠE, the university has opportunities to continue to rise in the rankings. “At this point, it is mainly the CEMS Master in International Management that is pushing the school up, but other universities are also benefiting from other programmes evaluated by the Financial Times, such as the Executive MBA. That is exactly what we plan to do; we want to qualify our MBA for the Financial Times and strive for the best possible quality. This will move the school up in the rankings again,” says Hnilica.

INSEAD ranks first in this year’s Financial Times European Business Schools ranking, although it is not a European university in the true sense of the word, as it is based not only in France but also in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. Second place goes once again to HEC Paris, which has been at the top of the ranking for years.

Of the former Eastern Bloc countries, only Poland’s Kozminsky University remains ahead of VŠE in the ranking of the best European business schools, although it has fallen from 38th to 42nd place this year.
