Entelect takes first place at the Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards

JOHANNESBURG, 21 November 2024 – Entelect has won first place in the large organisation category in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards – South Africa.

Powered by WorkL, the awards recognise organisations with the most consistent and highest levels of employee engagement, experience, and wellbeing in South Africa.

The results are survey-based and determined by the employees of each organisation that enters the awards.

The 35 survey questions measure employee experience, covering WorkL’s six key drivers of engagement: Reward and Recognition, Information Sharing, Empowerment, Pride, Job Satisfaction, and Wellbeing.

Entelect secured first place, beating McDonald’s SA and DHL Express, which took second and third place respectively.

135 Entelect Team Members Celebrate Long Service Milestones in 2024

JOHANNESBURG, November 2024 – In a landmark achievement, 135 Entelect employees (affectionately known as Entelectuals) have been recognised for their long service in 2024.

The individuals celebrated at our second Tenure Award ceremony of the year.

These dedicated individuals have been part of the Entelect journey for 5, 10, 15 years, and beyond – a testament to an environment that fosters growth while emphasising community.

Entelectuals who reach tenure milestones are celebrated in an awards ceremony, where each person is honoured with personal stories of achievement and learnings, and mementos of thanks from leadership. Remarkably, this year is the first time the awards ceremony has been split into two events to accommodate the growing number of people who have called Entelect home for more than five years.

“The Tenure Awards are more than just a celebration of time served; they are a testament to the growth and development of our people,” said Tomislav Ravić, Head of People at Entelect. “The events provide a platform for us to share stories about each team member, reminisce, and spend a day celebrating together,” he added.

Within the South African team, 92 people from this years’ group have been with the business for over 5 years. Fifteen of the group are celebrating a 10-year milestone, and two have reached the commendable 15-year mark. Across Entelect’s global offices, 23 people are celebrating their 5-year tenure, and 3 are hitting a 10-year milestone.

Many of these tenured individuals began their careers at Entelect as graduates and are now in key leadership positions, mentoring the growth of new graduates themselves.

Entelect’s remarkable growth since its inception in 2001 has seen more than 1,500 people join the business, 950 of whom joined after 2020 and remain part of the team.

“The impact of these dedicated Entelectuals is tangible and resonates throughout our entire business. Their efforts have shaped the trajectory of Entelect, contributing to our continued success. At Entelect, we have an unwavering emphasis on growth. This is lived out not just in our people, but in our global reach. Having kicked off our first international branch in 2017, in 7 years we have expanded to 6 different countries, 10 offices and now employ over 187 international technology professionals – a thriving addition to our 1 500 South African employees (affectionately referred to as Entelectuals).

A growing global footprint

Our Netherlands branch was established in 2019, through the purchasing of a majority stake in Fixx iT, a software engineering and professional services company. The acquisition was a strategic move to retain the talent of our people who were being lost to immigration. Since then, the office has grown to 65 employees and formed a leadership committee, aimed at driving the company’s goals forward.

The United Kingdom has become home to 30 Entelectuals since opening in 2021. The business has secured a number of meaningful clients in 2023 and is providing exciting opportunity for growth in 2024. On the other side of the globe, New Zealand, our first branch, and Australia, grow in strides. JOHANNESBURG, October 12, 2023 – Entelect’s CEO, Shashi Hansjee, has announced that Daniel Manyemwe will be stepping into the role of Chief Customer Officer to drive Entelect’s mission to strengthen partnerships and lead the industry in customer service, agility and ease of business.

“Manyemwe has been with us for over a decade after joining the company in 2011. He has proven to be a highly successful leader in our business, most recently in his role as General Manager where he has been instrumental in establishing key relationships with our most important customers and very successfully maturing our operating model”.

Hansjee added that “In particular, Manyemwe has made a direct impact on Entelect’s growth through his ability to foster relationships grounded in trust and delivery. The testament to this is the impressive number and quality of relationships which Daniel still holds across Entelect’s client base. This makes the decision for him to join the executive team in this capacity very natural, and I look forward to his continued success.”

Manyemwe’s role as CCO will be to provide dedicated executive oversight for key customers, focusing on high-touch customer service and leading the account executive team.
