WordCamp is a conference type of event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these events. These events are usually highlighted by speeches or keynotes by various people.
The official annual WordCamp (http://central.wordcamp.org) was held on August 16, 2008 in San Francisco. Regional WordCamps are happening around the world in places like Cape Town, Manila, Beijing, Portland, Salt Lake City, Birmingham, Raleigh-Durham, Toronto, Honolulu, Sydney, Philippines, and Washington D.C.

Following the success story of WordCamp Philippines 2008 at last September 6, 2008 as the first WordCamp in SouthEast Asia, Indonesia will host this next WordCamp conference.
WordCamp is a 2-day conference for WordPress users and developers, will be held on January 17-18, 2009 in Jakarta.
Its a wonderful ways of getting to know fellow WordPress fans and bloggers.
This informal gathering is a great opportunity for Indonesia-area WordPress developers, users, themers, designers, marketers, writers and enthusiasts to meet up, learn from each other, and have fun. Its the best venue for WP enthusiasts to come together and get updated on the latest.
The theme of WordCamp Indonesia 2009 is Learn from The Best. And the event will be in English and Bahasa, with no translation between the two.
