About Me
Hi! My name is Eunice Yiu. I am a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley. I am affiliated with the Department of Psychology and Berkeley AI Research Lab.
I study how humans build and update internal models of the world, and how AI systems represent, generalize, and sometimes mis-generalize similar structures. My work develops systematic evaluation frameworks for spatial, causal, and world-model reasoning in vision-language and embodied systems.
My current research goals are to: 1. develop cognitively grounded trustworthiness evaluations to measure and predict when frontier AI systems' learned world models and goals misgeneralize, 2. understand how these representations shape human-AI interaction, including how humans interpret, rely on, and use AI during real-world reasoning and problem solving.
