Figma Edu Verification Support
- Be sure to use your school-issued email address to signup for a Figma account.

Verification Troubleshooting
If you're having trouble getting verified for Figma Education, review the common issues below before contacting support.
(1) Education status not showing
If you were approved but don’t see Education status on your account:

Check all other Figma accounts you may have (personal, school, or professional). Education status is sometimes accidentally applied to a different account.

Note: using your school email to verify does not automatically mean the status was applied to that email’s account.

If your Education status was applied to the wrong account and you'd like it moved to your school email account, please complete this Google Form
(2) Verification limit exceeded
If you’ve attempted verification multiple times unsuccessfully:

First, check your other Figma accounts to make sure Education status wasn’t applied elsewhere.

Avoid retrying repeatedly within a short period to avoid being flagged as spam.

If you still need help, message #verification-support on the Slack.
(3) Personal email domains (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
Figma requires a school-issued email address for Education verification.
If you’re using a personal email domain:

We’re unable to approve verification outside of SheerID’s review system.

Figma's policy requires school-issued emails for all users to verify on the education program.

Verification Best Practices
Follow these tips to avoid common issues:
(1) Use your school-issued email address
- Do not use Gmail or another personal email when verifying your account.
(2) Be signed into the correct account
- Make sure you’re logged into the Figma account where you want Education status applied before starting the verification process.
(3) Turn off VPNs
- Avoid using a VPN during verification. Being physically on campus is the ideal.
(4) Try basic browser troubleshooting
- Clear your cache.
- Use an incognito/private window.
- Try a different browser.
(5) Avoid repeated attempts
- Do not attempt verification multiple times within a few minutes.
(6) Upload proper documentation (if requested)

Make sure your document includes:
- Your full name
- University name
- Current term dates
- For students, unofficial transcripts are recommended.
(7) Upgrade your team after verification
- Education status does not automatically upgrade your team.

(8) Do not change your email address after verification and do not delete your account.
- Doing either will result in the loss of your Education status.
