Eligibility
IT and Finance enthusiasts can apply both individually and in teams. As simple as that - you want to participate? We want you to participate!
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONSThe solutions must be geared towards one of the following challenges
You can use these challenges as guidance - you can choose to solve the challenge partially or, in the contrary, merge two challenges into one solution. Of course, if you are an idea-making machine, you can always use your own avant-garde solutions and assemble teams around them. The bottom line is: there are no restrictions on solutions! Just, once you settle on them, assemble a team around it!
Here is a common list of challenges/topics of the hackathon. The detailed list will be provided on the online presentation on the 22nd of April at 12:00.

Requirements
To wrap up the weekend of work, the hackathon will end with pitches of your creations. Pitches are composed of three main parts which mostly override one another in the content but have different formats:
I. Textual Pitch Submission on DevpostComposed of 8 questions that you should prepare in advance before submitting to DevPost:
-
The problem your project solves
-
The solution you bring to the table (including technical details, architecture, tools used)
-
What you have done during the weekend
-
The solution’s impact
-
The necessities in order to continue the project
-
The value of your solution(s)
-
The URL to the prototype [Github, Website,...]
-
The URL to the pitch video (Required)
This needs to be submitted, alongside the video by 25th April 12:00 CEST.
Here's an example project page.
Here’s a video on how to submit on DevPost.
II. Video Pitch on DEVPOSTFor the video part, you have two strict requirements:
-
No longer than 2 minutes
Here are some instructions on how you can add a video to Youtube:
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
For the rest, it is up to you, but we recommend structuring the video into 4 parts: the problem, the solution, what you accomplished and finally what you are planning to do next. So you have 2 minutes to cover 4 topics. We suggest dedicating about 30 seconds for each topic, but you are free to be more flexible. Please keep in mind that the problem should only focus on the FinTech that your solution is solving: even though your solution could be more extensive, do not focus on it. When showing off the demo, we recommend you not doing a walkthrough and focusing on the 2-3 features that help the user the most.
The link to the video will have to be submitted alongside to your project page on DevPost.
III. Presentation slides on DEVPOST Here it is a possible structure (you can make your own structure if you think it will help you better to achieve the result):-
The name of the team
-
Problem/challenge - you address to and why you see it important
-
Your solution and why you see it as valuable
-
What resources you think you would need to make the product happen (time, money, people, expertise - whatever)
-
What might be a monetization model of your product
-
The evaluation of the market (will be a great benefit - use TAM/SAM/SOM approach)
After the submission deadline, your submission will be evaluated by the mentors using the evaluation criteria mentioned below on a scale of 1-5 for each criterion, and the sum of all the scores will be your final submission score.
Your submission score will be evaluated with other submissions within your challenge. If your submission is in the top 15, highest-ranked of the challenge, then your submission will be presented in front of a panel of jury. Then this panel will hold another voting with the same criteria, to select the winning project and around ten runner-ups.
Finalists will be announced on April 25 at 15:00.
Winners will be notified and announced on April 25 at 18:00.
