I have tried to find this song for YEARS. No luck. So I want to create a .csv file with every song from every playlist between those years from this radio station. Once I have this I think I can more efficiently (hopefully) find the song. My questions:

Is it possible for me to get an API key to help me do this? Or are those just for radio stations. Any ideas for doing it without one? I am trying to use Python and Beautiful soup to scrape the site with but it is not going well.

This is because a public show page has its list of attached playlists. If you want to delete the show, you should move the playlists to another show so that they are somewhere on the internet.

There are playlists for this show, and there are some duplicate shows that have almost the same name, but were deactivated years ago.

The difference to look for is in the classes of the <a> elements. Shows have the class spin-cal-show while playlists have spin-cal-pl. Incorporate those into your CSS selectors and you’ll be able to color them differently.

I used the Web customization in the Admin section and was able to colorize my Schedule. In the process I lost the feature that changes the color of previous shows vs. future shows. What do I need to do to get this back?

Every date and time in Spinitron is formatted in the station’s time zone regardless of the web browser’s location or configuration.

The reasons are several. First is simplicity.

But more interesting than that: because location and hence also time zone are part of a station’s identity. Almost all stations using Spinitron are focused on a geographically local community one way or another. DJs often express their location, date and time of day in their announcements. Many stations organize their programming according to time of day, e.g. pop in the morning drive, jazz in the evening. And we don’t want Spinitron to attempt to convert any of this. If you’re in Cape Town listening to a station in Fairbanks Alaska, I think you can and should make the effort to wrap your head around the difference in location and consequent time zone and relate to it as it really is. And I think Spinitron cannot successfully obviate that effort by formatting dates and times differently and would very likely add confusion by doing so.

Thanks for the response. Our App support traced the issue to an older schedule and not the current schedule from Spinitron being referenced for the lock screen display. This was fixed by the App support with the information App is receiving. Glad they found solution. There are so many points of connectivity to display media and metadata.

I’ll try to check on respond to my posts if solutions are found.

We’re a college radio station, and many of our listeners and DJs are studying abroad or based outside the U.S. Right now, all show times default to EST, which can be confusing.

I’m currently outside the country and in a different time zone, and I keep having to manually convert show times from EST. It would be really helpful if Spinitron could automatically show schedules in the viewer’s selected or detected time zone.
