I built a WebGL/Three.js shader project called Noisy Strokes: a 3D mesh covered in procedural RGB stroke bands with animated noise distortion and smooth state-to-state transitions. Everything is shader-driven (GLSL), with GSAP controlling transition timing. The goal is a mix of graphic hard-edge strokes and organic, grainy motion in real time.

On top of that, the pass includes RGB channel separation and subtle vertical distortion, which makes the edge of the transition feel more alive. The amount of distortion changes with the transition progress, and the edge can be pushed further with per-channel offsets so the mask has a stronger chromatic split during the reveal. The result is a stylized noise-mask transition that works as a post-process effect over the full frame, rather than being tied to a single material.

I’m surprised I never even heard about these as a plugin dev, but maybe these kind of solutions are more popular with Agencies.

Maybe it would send a nice email notification like: “We tested the new Woo 12.3.4 version and passed all tests. Take Backup and PUSH to PRODUCTION?” - one click.

As I imagine it, the service would automatically clone the site into a temporary staging environment, run all updates there first one by one (core, themes, plugins) and then run automated checks: page loading, PHP errors, broken layouts, key functionality like login or checkout.

If everything passes, the update gets pushed to the live site. If something breaks, the system skips that update and reports which plugin or theme caused the issue.

Over time the platform could also build a compatibility database (which plugin versions break with which themes, PHP versions, etc.)…

Really hard to implement, but not impossible.

Not many developers are working with 3D. Three.js is really complex and requires a lot of context to understand before you can even start using it: faces, normals, UVs, textures, tangents, bitangents, lights, shadows, vertices. These are just a few of the things you need to understand conceptually before even trying to build something. It’s quite a ride until things start to work.

I know two developers who tried for about two years to get into this, and they eventually gave up.

You can build simple things here and there, but when it comes to creating a real project, the idea needs to be formed before you even start writing the code. That’s why I keep saying that no matter what kind of AI we will have, this is not something AI can truly do. Our imagination is our own, and at least for now it can’t really be used to train a model.

Create immersive virtual tours with smooth navigation, realistic scenes, and seamless integration of hotspots/markers, tooltips, info windows, and more. Add scene switching, camera presets, floor-map navigation, responsive fullscreen layouts, and touch-friendly controls for a complete cross-device experience.

The marketplace is basically dead. I had three sales this month, and all three could have happened on my own website. The clients actually wanted to buy directly from me, but currently the cart is disabled. All three clients came from the free versions from WordPress and contacted me via the contact form from my website.

So the best thing you can do now is create free versions and add them to WordPress. It’s a slow process, but it’s worth the effort.

I’m also thinking about adding all my products to Elements just for the exposure. More than 90% of my customers need support, and if they have the product and start working with it, they will eventually buy it directly from me, (I have not decided yet but Ihave two products on TemplateMoster in their package similar to Elements and they do bring clients), I know by now that a script/plugin without support/updates is no bueno

We’ll see what happens, but in my book Envato is dead. I’m only using it because it’s there andI am ther since 2009, while preparing for the future with my own website, free plugin versions on WordPress and WPBay.

I still strongly believe that, personally, I could have brought Envato back within six months. What the CEO did to this company that we all love so much is something I honestly don’t even have the words for. It’s simply despicable.

This is FSE block theme, there are no many FSE themes on Envato or in general.
I’m working on free version now for wordpress and I hope that can bring some traffic to premium theme.

Having lot of themes on Themeforest like I have or focus to only one plugin that requires constant updates is not the same so I’m not in situation to change exclusivity there at the moment.

Oh boy, Mr. Hichame in action…

All companies are doing this exact same thing — they are firing people left and right in the context of AI. In the short term this works like a charm, but in the long term it will be a disaster.

A lot of CEOs get huge bonus payments for these layoffs. Probably the Envato CEO will get a big paycheck from this as well. As long as AI is the reason, it seems like anything is acceptable and you can do whatever you want.

AI will never fully replace a software engineer. Even with “mega super duper AI,” there will still be a need for experienced developers to put things together. The only way to become a senior developer is to actually write code and go through the process — there is no other way around it. Just a reminder: coding/programming is hard.

I do expect CodeCanyon and ThemeForest to close soon as well. I’m not sure what they are planning, but whatever it is, they will probably come out of it very rich — I mean the Envato CEO and the people around them.

A dark age is coming for us, but it will pass. We just need to survive it.

This is too aggresive!

Envato seams dead at this point, my last sale was nine days ago… it feels like the entire industry is dead…

Nobody is needing WordPress all of the sudden what is happening, any ideas?

I have 14 sites and thought it would be nice to move on from my Hope-Based checkup strategy to an automatic system.

I’ve set up Uptime Kuma on a VPS and set it up to ping each one of my sites every 5 minutes. It produces a nice dashboard you can set up on a subdomain of yours like status.yoursite.com:

You can set it up to automatically email you (or whatsapp, slack, telegram etc) if something is down.

I was already very pleased at this point, but here’s the best part:

• It tracks Average response time when pinging each site.

While it doesn’t have notifications for that, I had Claude look into it and in about 10 minutes it set up a custom script for me that I set on a cronjob to run every 24hrs based on the last 24hrs load average. Each site has its own threshold (if slower than this, let me know). It works!:

No more slow sites or performance issues I learn about months later!
