Because I need to use Comodo in an offline environment, I used to Comodo Anti Malware Database Latest Version & Additions 2023 Go and obtain the latest bases.comav file for virus library upgrade. But I found that although virus database update messages are normally published on this website, such as Latest Database Version and Total Definitions, the bases.comav downloaded from here has not changed since January 26th, and the MD5 of the file has always been 5154a6800b9a669601d1dd29740f9fa2. I download the same files from different machines. I don’t agree with the idea of adding features but not changing the virus database.
I want to know what the reason is? Is this upgrade website no longer valid? Where can I get the latest bases.comav?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to apply “Unrecognized” File Status to files excluded like this?

Because current default condition just ENTIRELY and totally puts that file on the ignore list. It will never ever again be “challenged” even if its status changes. However, if it had “Unrecognized” also applied as File Rating it would.

Because if it has no status condition it’s just 100% ignored. If it has “Unrecognized” condition it will only ignore it for as long as it’s unrecognized. If it changes status to Malicious at one point, it would still be detected and dealt with.

Acronis True Image (ATI) 2025 is also installed. Before enabling Auto-Containment, ATI used to work smoothly; afterwards, its scheduler service cannot start.

The relevant file, “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2\schedul2.exe”, is explicitly trusted in the File Rating settings. Moreover, there’s a policy in Auto-Containment settings to Ignore said executable. This process opens a tree of a few more processes, all of which have a Trusted File Rating, as well. The relevant service is ArcSch2Svc but I don’t know whether it can be whitelisted in Comodo, and how.

Anyhow, apart from the timing of ATI breaking (i.e., after enabling Auto-Containment), I also checked the error thrown by ArcSch2Svc and it was “The RPC server is too busy to complete this operation”, therefore I suspected that in fact the Comodo FW was most probably the culprit. So, I took the following steps: I disabled Auto-Containment, I rebooted twice, launched ATI and it worked. I re-enabled Auto-Containment, and ATI kept working. However, if I reboot and Auto-Containment is enabled when the PC starts, then ATI will launch but its scheduler service won’t start regardless whether I later disable Auto-Containment or not. When Auto-Containment is enabled at boot time, then the ArcSch2Svc service won’t ever start, no matter what.

So my question is what I’ve been doing wrong or I might have overlooked, and thus rendered ATI non-working when Auto-Containment is enabled, and how I can combine these two in a usable state.

However every time I launch Autorun Analyzer it starts enumerating items and within a second or so it crashes with no message.
This PC has Acronis True Image installed and the Autoruns.exe executable is explicitly allowed in its real-time protection “anti-ransomware” module. Said executable is also explicitly allowed in Windows Defender controlled folder access.
However I do not know whether Autorun Analyzer might depend on a service that is not running in the PC and/or it cannot make such service start.
CisDumps folder contains nothing.
Please advise; any help greatly appreciated.

I’ve had some alerts from script files from the folder C:\ProgramData\Comodo\Cis\tempscrpt trying to connect to the internet.
Inside those files seems to be different variants of launch arguments and snippets of code.

Why do these files connect to the internet? Is there a way to silence these alerts?
There currently are over 800 scripts in that directory - CIS never purges it?

I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to ask if there is any update on when the next version of Comodo CIS/Firewall might be released. It feels like it has been quite a while, and recently I’ve run into a few issues that made it difficult to use—for example, needing to reinstall my system multiple times due to a bug, and occasionally the software not running because it doesn’t trust its own files.

I’ve also noticed some unresolved bugs that seem fairly serious, so I was wondering if there’s an estimated timeline for fixes or a new release. Even a rough timeframe would be very helpful for planning.

Please understand that I’m not trying to criticize—I’ve appreciated the product for a long time. I just want to make sure it’s still actively maintained, especially since it sometimes feels like the focus may have shifted more toward Xcitium products.

Hi, I’m using the latest version of Comodo Internet Security, but I’ve encountered a major performance issue. I have a 2Gbps fiber connection, and the “Comodo Internet Security Firewall Driver” is throttling my download speeds significantly. When the driver is enabled in the network adapter settings, the speed drops drastically to 600Mbps. When disabled, I get my full 2Gbps speed.

I understand this might be due to NDIS filter limits or single-core CPU bottlenecking during packet inspection. My questions are:

  1. Is there any way to bypass this bottleneck while keeping the firewall active?
  2. Is there a fix or a beta driver that supports high-speed (2Gbps+) RSS (Receive Side Scaling)?
  3. Are there any plans to update the driver for modern high-speed fiber connections?

I really like the Comodo HIPS and notification system, so I’d prefer to keep using it if there’s a solution. Thanks!

I have currently CIS 2025 installed in my system.

I am learning C++ and Python and have a problem with new executables. CIS can’t recognise the files every time I compile them into new executables. They always land in File Rating as Untrusted. The consequence is if the executable is to print any output, I can’t see anything until I manually rate executables as Trusted.

The files are always compiled into a specific folder

D:\MyExecutables\C++

What I tried so far

I created a new group in File Groups and named it TrainingC++ with this path: D:\MyExecutables\C++\*. Then, I made following changes:

  • In Containment, the files are Ignored
  • In HIPS, the group is categorised as Allowed Application
  • In Firewall, the group is also categorised as Allowed Application
  • I have even added TrainingC++ to a group Scan Exclusions inside Analysis.

Every time I compile a new executable, that files are still added to the File Rating as Untrusted.

What settings am I missing?

Comodo Internet Security - CIS I’m having a problem with a program (web browser) which, a few seconds after being launched, spontaneously starts a huge download with no apparent reason.
As I don’t like programs acting without me knowing what they are doing (I know that happens quite often, but I’d like to prevent it at least when I notice), I tried tracking network activity and confirmed that the culprit is indeed that program.

I then tried creating in COMODO Firewall a “global rule” to block incoming traffic from the identified source IP address but, as I feared, the program, after a few moments of… uncertainty, launched the download from a different IP address.
I also tried to figure out which file was being downloaded and which was the destination folder, but I couldn’t find any answer.

So I’d like to know if and how I can create a CF rule in order to prevent that program from file downloading, while still allowing it to access the Internet as a browser.

I realise this might be simply impossible, because obviously a browser actually “downloads” everything it displays on web pages, but I thought that since I’m not very knowledgeable about this, maybe there’s some strategy I’m not aware of.

Or maybe someone can suggest some other approach?
