  1. This is how I setup the Sega/Nintendo/Namco Triforce Arcade which uses the GameCube hardware: Required Emu: latest know version (March 2023): Archive "Dolphin Triforce builds by Crediar" version dolphin_tri_x64_15_03_2023.rar Required Latest Triforce bios v3 needed for one of the soccer games: online "Triforce_Firm_v3.12_TYPE3_ONLY.BIN" Required Roms: need to be the .iso versions not the "Mame bins/chds Archives. Look for "Triforce iso" online. I also attached the patches/Geeko codes for each game beside Kart version C since E/D are patched to work. Launchbox emu setting uses"-b -C Dolphin.Interface.ConfirmStop=False -C Dolphin.Display.Fullscreen=True -e" -- Now the secret sauce is done on Dolphin Triforce branch: 1st setup your GC controller. make sure to set the servive button Z to something like L thumb click and same for test button to fit your controller After change standard controler to Triforce AM Baseboard for port 1 and 2 2nd setup iso path 3rd set game cube settings as follow SlotA mem card Sp1 triforce am baseboard Bios: Triforce v3 4th Enable if needed all assigned patches for each game and each geeko codes 5th test each game 🙂 Games works perfectly and I don't have any slow downs with the Geeko patches and all motor check, boot checks are bypassed. On Kart gp sometimes the aspect ratio jumps rarely in gameplay between 16/9 to 4/3. I forced 4/3 in the vulkan graphic settings Cheers DolphinTriforce.7z DolphinTriforce.zip
  2. Hey guys, so a few months ago i decided to buy the bigbox subscription. I've been trying to play some xbox games with xemu and some games won't work. The issue is the game will load, the sounds are all there, the game will respond to inputs but the screen will be black except for the toolbar for xemu at the top. Itll load the start up screen for xbox but that's it. The game I mainly want to play is need for speed most wanted 2005. I don't know which other games don't work but other people in my house have tried a few others and have had varied results with some working fine and others having the above problem. The computers running Microsoft Windows 10 pro with Intel corei7. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and to anyone who responds. Cheers!
  3. figured out how to copy the post I'm going to post this answer in a few different areas on the forum. I have been trying to figure out how to launch retroarch mame for the systems that don't have a stand alone core. I have finally found a mostly elegant solution 1) Add a New Emulator - I have named mine RetroArch MAME console cores Add your retroarch.exe Make sure to check "Don't use quotes..." 2) Tab over to the Associated Platforms Here's the magic sauce example 1 "neocdz -cdrm \"%romfile%\"" example 2 "a5200 -rp \"F:\Roms\Atari 5200\" -cart \"%romfile%\"" example 3 "coleco -rp F:\Roms\ColecoVision\ -cart \"%romfile%\"" The reason for the "Don't use quotes" and adding this as a new emulator is because of the special thing we have to do to the command line using mostly the same arguments has standalone mame/mess you have to have all the arguments in double quotes " but because of how Windows handles long file names with spaces the locations have to be in quotes to. This throws retroarch/the windows commandline off. This is where the \ before the double quote at the beginning and the \ before the closing double quote per directory/location. Also we can use the launchbox variable %romfile% to help make this work. 3) On top of all that you also have to specify the rompath if the mame core hasn't generated an ini with the rompath. This is needed for the bios of the core you are loading. If all your mame console bios files are in the same dir you could just use that for each entry The core will generate ini files for each system after first run. 4) I also edited my retroarch core options file. I probably enable boot to bios but I don't at the moment. There is my setup for launching roms through retroarch mame. I hope this helps
  4. I've been seeing this thing all over tiktok and wonder if we are going to evolve launchbox into plug and play devices like this? Yes we can set it up on massage PC storage space but even those don't come with controllers or capabilities to play on any tv.
  5. Hello all I am new to this community and sorry if this ahs been covered 100 times already but I am curious about the best PC build for a MAME/Retro arch machine. I am designing and building a complete cabinet for home and personal use. I would like for this build to have the capability to run everything in my library from PS1 and earlier (before analog controls). I use big box and emumovies with great success they look awesome, I have built mock ups of 8 way sticks and 8 button controllers, all working good. I am currently running this on a Mac Pro from 2009 with win 10 installed on it. I am at the point in the project where I want to start building a dedicated PC for this project that will live in the cabinet. My first question is what is optimal for smooth emulation and snappy front end? Also my game library is pretty large so I would like to access the games fairly quickly, I don't think I need an SSD for this and am currently looking at () what are your thoughts on this HDD selection? My second question is the monitor, I cant decide if its better to keep hunting for a 4:3 24"CRT or to settle and use a 16:9 flat screen? I own a 36" Sony Trinitron that works perfectly but its way to large for a cabinet unfortunately. I have found some CRTs but the shipping is more that the TV. I don't mind continuing to search for the perfect CRT but am I wasting my time? Do you prefer to use widescreen monitor forced to a 4:3? if so do you use filters to smooth/blue pixels, add scanlines etc.? Again sorry if this is already covered content, I did a quick search but did find what I was looking for so I thought I would post new.

  7. I saw that android is a platform option bt how the hell do we use it.. I mean I have nox on my systems but it doesn't even install to a normal location so its impossible to locate the app exe... Can this be done with bluestacks? Again giving me files I don't have a clue about using with the movies is pointless... I created an acoount I got my API key etc but how the heck do we add movies to launchbox?
  8. Well I have tried ePSXe, Duckstation, and now Libretro Swanstation. Each give me the same issue: PS BIOS comes up with Playstation logo, Williams logo loads up, then I get the small "Loading...". This is where I'm stuck. My .cue file is Doom.cue. I have 8 .bin files named: Doom (USA) (Track1)....through Doom (USA) (Track8). I have opened up the .cue file in Notepad++ and I don't see anything named incorrectly. The only fix that I have seen after scouring the Internet for the past 2 hours is a somewhat vague solution post where you rename your .bin files....: Doom and Final doom use relative paths to play music files. Game hangs to the [ LOADING… ] screen due to a bad file naming. Make sure your .bin files are named exactly like this : PSXDOOM.bin or PSXFINALDOOM.bin , otherwise game wouldn’t find the path to the intro music it’s supposed to play after the loading screen (PSXDOOM\CDAUDIO\DOOMMAIN.RAW). As I said that explanation/solution is confusing to me. I see 8 bin files..am I supposed to rename them all? Anyone get this to work? BTW, I get the exact same thing with Final Doom for Playstation. It gets stuck on the "Loading..." part as well. Edit: I saw a possible solution saying to only copy .cue files into to Games directory for the specific system. Edit#2: So I started up Duckstation manually from its folder, I went to the Doom game in the list, Right-Clicked "Full Boot" and it loaded up properly...
  9. Man, though I haven't been here in physical, I have been in spirit just dealing with everything life is throwing at me trying to maintain. Anyways I am glad to be such a part of the most elite emulation and gaming community of all time! I am going update this post with my new gaming station (wip) and my emulation station setup soon. Cheers be sure to check out my profile it's been completed updated and revised, also you can learn a lot more about my gaming background and resume.
  10. Will there ever be a way to easily emulate Phillip's CDI. Ive tried way too long to play very bad games lol.
  11. I've been fighting with this for an hour now reading forum posts, watching videos, and nothing has worked. I'm trying to play a 3DS game using Citra 2018, it works fine in the retroarch outside of launchbox, but inside i click on it and it does nothing. I go to manage my emulators, i download the exe file that the wizard directs me to from inside of launchbox, i put everywhere where all of the videos say to put them, I open up the exe that i linked to launchbox, and i go to download the core, it says it downloaded it, but then it doesn't. It says it does, but i go to the main page and go to "load core" and there is nothing there (other than a cloud controller option). I don't know what i'm supposed to do to make this work inside of launch box, and when i go to the manage emulator and i see all of the cores they all say "core missing" and when i click on them it says "The Retroarch core is missing. Download it to ensure the platforms using them work as expected" but i can't download them, because they won't "stick" in retroarch when i do. what am I doing wrong here?
  12. So im having this issue where when I connect a gamepad controller to my phone my screen (On Super Retro 16) turns from black into an off grey, and its SUPER annoying, I cant figure out why this is happening, if somebody has the same isssue or could lend me a hand and give me some ideas why this is happening, PLEASE dont hesitate to shoot me a MESSAGE or reply to this thread, I really need your help. Once again the screen (upon direction input) goes from deep natural black colors, to off gray. Thanks for reading, hope to hear from someone soon/. Please help
  13. Im trying to use mame2003plus for several games that run better with this core. Under edit tab for game, then under emulation/use comnand line ,I am using the following command line: -L "cores/mame2003plus_libretro.dll" This isnt working. Game wont launch. I was hoping by now, the latest version of launchbox would have a simple check box menu under the edit menu to choose which core you would prefer. You can do this for games with multiple versions.....simply choose the version click ok, and your done. But we are still manually putting in command line code for using a prefered core. Retropie allows you to choose a core and your done. Still....Im pretty happy with launchbox. Thanks for any help.
  14. pc win 10 intel 5 3.7 8gb ram questions 1) pcsx2 - any progress on making VAMPIRE DARKSTALKER COLLECTION work on ps 2 emu ? This is a well known issue and there have been many posts on this in the past but ive yet to get it working. The issue is severe graphical glitches and stutter and slowdown. I used a .dll file and fixed the glitches but it still runs at about 10 fps with distortion. Was hoping it was a settings issue . ANy ideas? 2) rpcs3 (see squirrel girl) BlazblueChrono Phantasma Extend ps3 is meant to be compatable but what ever i do i get this see through characters despite the game running reliavely smoothly and no other obvious issues. Again maybe a setting issue . ANy ideas? Ive spent hours on this before asking... thanks
  15. Has anyone been able to emulate the TI-99/4a with the voice synthesizer and have LaunchBox launch it in fullscreen mode? If so, what emulator are you using? I have the TI-99/4a emulated in MAME but I'm unable to get the voice synthesizer to work. I believe I have the voice synthesizer rom file in the right directory but none of the games that I've tried, that use the synthesizer, are outputting any speech. I'm starting to think that it's not possible to use the voice synthesizer under MAME 0.184.
  16. Hi, Sorry i know this is a really noob question! I am new to N64 emulation and was wondering on some other opinions on what emulator to use. I've been toying around with Project 64, most games work well enough for me (not too bothered about upscaling etc) but there's too many that I'm struggling to get playable. (most recent example being Pokemon stadium, I'm getting a tonne of graphical glitches in menus and also flickering in the borders whilst in a battle) I've seen online that there maybe an option to change the graphics plugins possible, any guidance on that would be appreciated. A bit of background info is that i have been trying to avoid retro arch as previous experience for me has been rough (prior to using launch/bigbox) but if that is the going consensus on the most reliable emulator I'm happy to give it another shot. Not sure if necessary but PC specs are as follows: I7-4770, GTX 780 3GB, 16GB RAM, All games and emulators on a 4TB external drive. Cheers !
  17. My emulation controller suddenly won't work. The controls have been reset to the keyboard. I can't change the controls. Can anyone help me? Update: I'm hearing jingle noises that activate and deactivate the controller. Anyone have a similar problem?
  18. I have been using several different emulators and decided to amalgamate using launchbox. After importing the games. I noticed with epsxe and ppsspp the controller stopped functioning. Everything is fine with redream and snes9x. I am on windows 10 with a logitech f310. Xinput set for everything so I'm stumped! I even tried disabling controllers for launchbox itself and still nothing.
  19. There is one prerequisite to playing Atari5200 games via emulator – and that’s the BIOS file. This ROM file can be found floating around the web, so it is up to you to obtain this file. It’s not too hard to find. Next up, we need to get an emulator that can make this all happen. One such emulator is Kat5200. This can be googled Now, you need to find a nice convenient place on your hard drive and create a folder for all of your Atari 5200 needs. In that folder, create a folder for all of your ROM images and another for the Kat5200 emulator. Now (assuming you downloaded the binaries archive), drag and drop all of the Kat5200 files from the archive folder you downloaded into the Kat5200 folder you made. Now, place your 5200 rom file and place it somewhere in the Kat5200 emulator folder (it’s easier to find in the emulator after this way). Now, open up the emulator by double-clicking on the Kat5200.exe file. You’ll probably get wizard that’ll guide you through the set-up process, but if you couldn’t get things to work, no worries, we’ll show you what you need to modify outside of the wizard. The first thing we need to do is get the emulator to detect the 5200 ROM BIOS file. For that, you click (or hover) your mouse on the “Machine” drop-down menu I’ve highlighted above. In the menu, you need to click on “Bios files”: In the new screen, you’ll see a line for the Atari 5200 BIOS. Simply click on browse and use their built-in browser to find your BIOS ROM file (you can either use the “Up” button or double-click on the [..] line to go up a directory if need be). Once you have found the ROM file, click on it to highlight it and then click “Load”. Then, click on “OK” to leave the BIOS “window”. Cool! You’ve now pointed the emulator to the BIOS file needed to run the games! Now, we need to find out the controls. Atari 5200 controllers, weirdly enough, look like large telephone’s complete with a number pad. This emulator will reflect that. To tweak the controls, simply click on the “Options” drop-down menu and click on “Input”: You’ll get a new window that looks something like this: To find out what each button does, click on the button on the left hand side (i.e. Top Button). On the right hand side in the line that says “PART NUM”, you’ll see a box with what key on your keyboard corresponds with the virtual controller. If you want to change this, simply click on the “Auto-Detect” button. A window will prompt you to press the key that you prefer to use. Press the key and not only will the window will disappear, but the new key will be featured in the “PART NUM” box. When you are done configuring your controller, click on the “OK” button. The next part is to find out how to save and load states. This can be found by clicking on “Options” and “User Interface”: In the new window, you’ll notice that configuring these other options is much like setting up your virtual controller. There is one thing to note, however: there is a line “Device Num” is the key that you hold. The “Part Num” line is the key you press on your keyboard. So, for loading save state 1, you hold down Alt and press “1” as per the default. See below screenshot for this: Again, use Auto-Detect to change the keys. Generally, I found the default settings to be sufficient, but that’s just personal preference. Finally, you get to load a game. Before you can load a game in the emulator, you have to make sure the game’s are not in a zipped or otherwise compressed archive. If you try to load a game in, say, a .7z archive, the emulator will simply crash after the Atari loading screen, complaining of a CPU crash. So, if your game is in an archived format, extract the .bin file in your ROMs folder first and load the .bin file instead. While the emulator can detect all of the files in the directory, it can only load certain kinds of files as a game. Now, go into your emulator and click on the “File” drop-down menu. Next, click on “Load Rom”: In the new window, highlight the .bin file of the game you want to load and click “load”. You’ll go back to the previous screen, but the game is loading. If you feel like it’s taking to long to load, move the mouse around a little. Usually, by that time, you’ll get to the Atari loading screen. When you want to exit the game, simply hit the “Esc” key on your keyboard. You’ll be taken back to the menu screen. You can go back to where you left off in the game by simply going into “File” and “Back to Game”. When you are done with the emulator, just go to “File” and “exit” That’s it! Happy gaming! FAQ I’m trying to get the game to start, but nothing seems to be working. What’s going on? Some games require you to hit a button to tell it that you are ready to play. By default, the F10 key will get the game started. This depends on whether or not you’ve changed the default keys (in which case, hit escape and look at the config file to see which of those is the Start button on your keyboard. I have a game that keeps crashing even though it’s not in an archived format. What’s going on? I found that rom images labelled “prototype” don’t do so well with this game. If it’s labelled “proto” or “prototype”, it might not be supported by the emulator. The game still crashes and it’s a regular ROM image? Could be the ROM in question. It could also be unsupported. Either find a different ROM or a different emulator in that case. The game looks really small and it’s hard to see. How do I make it bigger? In the emulator screen, go into “Options”, then “Video”. On the lower right hand part of the screen, you’ll see a pull down menu next to the word “Zoom”. I found 2x Zoom works comfortably well. #credit: Freeze

Hey everyone, just a quick upload to kill some time. A lot of these were made ages ago before I even went to college, so you'll find some that don't follow proper design/layout principals. But they're there nonetheless, and you'll definitely find a good amount of recent ones throughout. This is made with emulation in mind for Steam's Big picture mode, in the case that some of you may like to launch your roms from your Steam library and need some new game art. Here are some examples:

  23. Video removed because it contained links to copyrighted material. 1) Download FCEUX, it's an emulator that supports all forms of the 8-Bit Nintendo console including the Famicom Disk System.2) GO TO THIS LINK - LINK REMOVED - Download the zip, extract it, you'll get DISKSYS.ROM. The ONLY file that works is DISKSYS.ROM (8kb). Put it in a folder (named something like "FDS Bios")3) Open FCEUX, go to "Config" and click "Directories...", hit the Browse button next to FDS Bios Rom, choose the folder you made.4) NOW you will be able to open your FDS game rome and it WILL WORK!IF THE LINK TO DISKSYS.ROM (8KB) ENDS UP BROKEN ONE DAY, CONTACT ME AND I WILL RE-UPLOAD IT RIGHT AWAY!!!!!GO HERE TO GET YOUR FDS GAME ROMS LINK REMOVEDREMEMBER THE BIOS THEY HAVE THERE IS NOT THE CORRECT ONE. USE THE LINK IN STEP 2!! right after I set up Nestopia I found this! hope it helps!
  24. Hi LB Forums, First-time poster, long time creeper, also Happy Holidays! TL;DR - What is the best controller setup when running BigBox via Steamlink (Dolphin specific) I'm building a semi-Frankenstein setup post-holidays and was hoping to get a bit of input from the community My question - What is the best controller setup for mostly Dolphin Emulation with one or two SNES Games sprinkled in? - I was going to use the Gamecube Adapter and Wavebirds, but I wonder if using the new Xbox Controllers with Bluetooth is the better option? My Setup - Dell 7577 with 1060 Max- Q - All roms, emulators, launchbox, retroarch on External SSD (Samsung T5) - Steamlink plugged into TV - Xbox One Controller or Gamecube Adapter with Wavebirds Thanks in advance and apologies if I broke any rules!
  25. lol your content is awesome, excellent commentary, very clear instructions and voice overs. For the life of me idk why you didn't name this one to emulation with retroarch because as clear as that tut was I had no luck.. But this tut by far the best on the net even better than youtuber Simply Austin! I couldn't get it going with his video either until this vlog... Thank you also learned how to create my own .cue files which came in handy for 10 different games! Amazing work thank you so much! Happy Gaming!
