Switching to another source doesn’t make sense (we watched how poorly that went with Trakt before), the direction we’re evaluating is supporting multiple metadata sources.

Might want to talk to the Emby and Jellyfin developers.

Add IMDB, TVMaze, TMDB, for grabbing show information Trakt just used TMDb (previously they used TheTVDB). We used Trakt more than 10 years ago, but never again.

I’ve said it before elsewhere, but TMDb is not better than TheTVDB, it’s different, sometimes it’s better for a show, sometimes it’s worse. TMDb is missing data that Sonarr relies on (that they have no plans to add), so even if we use TMDb there will be some information that needs to be sourced elsewhere or the calendar will be a mess.

Switching to another source doesn’t make sense (we watched how poorly that went with Trakt before), the direction we’re evaluating is supporting multiple metadata sources.

Query cleaned before sent to prowlarr I Compared the two queries directly on the indexer source.
TPB
And it does give different results through prowlarr and directly on site when “The L Word” Is queried vs without “the”

What controls this cleaning?
Is it possible it can be changed to not clean “the” off for certain indexers?

Stop redownloading after move Interesting. I have my HTPC drive mapped to my main PC, so just point the move location to the HTPC? I thought that it would fail if the drive wasn’t online when it tries to move after download? If that works it would be perfect!

"Couldn't import ... access denied" on Mac during automatic import, but manual import works fine The file never makes it to its destination during the automatic import. It remains in the completed downloads folder and is neither copied nor moved. If it had at least copied, I might not have noticed the issue right away – I discovered it only because episodes I knew had downloaded successfully never appeared in the library.

For now I’ve set up a cron job that runs every 15 minutes to adjust the permissions as a temporary workaround. Over the weekend I’ll disable that, enable trace logging, let Sonarr attempt an automatic import, and then perform a manual import of the same file (assuming the automatic import fails). I’ll share the resulting trace logs for both cases.

Regarding the environment:

  • Sonarr is running on a Mac Mini (M1) under my user account with Full Disk Access.
  • NZBGet is running on a Synology NAS, which also hosts the downloads directory.
  • The Synology shares are mounted on the Mac via NFS, and from the Mac I have full read/write access to the files and directories involved.

Since manual import successfully moves the file, it seems like Sonarr has the required access to both source and destination paths, but the trace logs should clarify what’s happening during the automatic import process. I’ll report back with those as soon as I have them. Thanks for the quick reply!

"Couldn't import ... access denied" on Mac during automatic import, but manual import works fine The logs indicate that Soanrr is failing to delete the file, presumably after importing. It may be unable to do a move directly, so it’s doing a copy + delete.

For Manual Import, a copy wouldn’t do the delete, but a move should behave the same way, but trace logs would confirm that. It’d be useful to see trace logs for the failed import as well as a successful manual import.

Are Sonarr and NZBGet running as the same users?

Stop redownloading after move Can you not set your HTPC storage to be the sonarr library, and let sonarr handle moving the files when it is available?

That way

  • downloads are done on your main PC
  • when your HTPC becomes available, sonarr moves the files
  • sonarr tracks what quality files you have on the intermittently available HTPC storage, so you can still enjoy quality upgrades

"Couldn't import ... access denied" on Mac during automatic import, but manual import works fine Sonarr version: 4.0.16.2946 (ARM version)
OS: MacOS 15.7.4 (Sequoia)
Debug logs: example below
Description of issue:

I have a Mac Mini M1 running both Sonarr and Radarr. Downloading and storage are handled by another device; the relevant directories are mounted on the Mac via NFS.

I’ve been troubleshooting an issue where Sonarr fails to automatically import NZB downloads (via NZBGet). The monitored download task fails with a permissions error like this:

Couldn't import episode /Volumes/Downloads/Sample.Show.S01E01/Sample.Show.S01E01.mp4: Access to the path '/Volumes/Downloads/Sample.Show.S01E01/Sample.Show.S01E01.mp4' is denied.

However, the behavior is inconsistent:

  • Manual import works perfectly.
Using Wanted → Manual Import, I can browse to the same directory and import the exact same file without issue. Both the ‘copy’ and ‘move’ options work as expected.
  • Automatic import fails unless permissions are changed.
    – After extraction, the episode directories and files are set to 775. With those permissions, the monitored import fails.
    – If I change the directory/contents permissions to 777, the monitored import succeeds.
    – Manual import succeeds without changing permissions.

Additional details:

  • Sonarr clearly has read/write access to the files, since manual import works.
  • The files are on NFS mounts, but they behave like local volumes and Radarr uses the same mounts and paths without issue.
  • Radarr automatically imports downloads from the same directories with identical permissions (775).

Because of that, I’m unsure whether this is a configuration issue on my side or something specific to Sonarr’s monitored import process.

Below is a sanitized excerpt from the regular log. I can provide full debug logs if needed.

In the meantime, my temporary workaround will probably be a cron job that recursively adds write permissions to the downloads directory, but I’d obviously prefer to solve the underlying issue.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Package Version

From the query.

Full show title is “The L Word”
Also does similar for “The Act”

A quick Grok search tells me this is experienced by others with no clear solution. Is there a fix for this? Such as it querying once cleaned and once not cleaned?

Anyone have a reliable fix?
I’ve manually grabbed a release with a manual query in prowlarr and tagged it in the download client but surely theres a better fix?

Deluge lost labels, sonarr spams different versions of the same episode Thanks for the response!

I figured it would be the case, I guess I’ll just add it to the checklist for after updating Deluge.

Deluge lost labels, sonarr spams different versions of the same episode The problem is Sonarr likely got an unsuccessful response when adding the torrent/setting the label, which would mean Sonarr was unaware that it was grabbed successfully, this would result in multiple grabs for the same episode in the same RSS sync and nothing added to history (so Sonarr doesn’t actually know it was grabbed).

Even if it thinks it was added successfully it’d think the download was deleted because it didn’t come back from the Deluge when it asks for torrents in the specified category. There isn’t a way to determine this is because Deluge’s label plugin is broken and it was removed, it’ll just treat it as removed.

TLDR, it’s not possible.

Deluge lost labels, sonarr spams different versions of the same episode Sonarr version (exact version): 4.0.16.2944
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): .NET Yes (6.0.13)
OS: Alpine (docker)
Debug logs: Only thing in logs is that it couldn’t add the torrent because it already exists over and over, because it just kept on cycling through.
Description of issue: There was a deluge update with a breaking change on alpine, the labels plugin was disabled and prevented from installing. This caused an issue on sonarr side where the downloader was configured but not really labelling.

The problem is that sonarr kept adding torrents to download, cycling through the available torrents. Between 3am and 9am it downloaded nine different versions of an episode, but since it didn’t have a label, it was not recognized by sonarr.

Isn’t it possible to flag the torrent as downloading even if the label feature is disabled? Mark it as downloading if it the “add to downloader” was successful, even if it fails to actually find it afterwards?

Can't add any new series To rule out the most obvious, you don’t have a proxy setup under Settings: General: Proxy in Sonarr do you?

Did the issue start after upgrading the container to that version (looks like it’s a recent update)?
Have you rebooted the container recently?
Have you rebooted the host recently?

Could you reboot the container, enable trace logging, clear log files then link the the error with about 20 lines before and after please?

Sonarr not sending seeding time to qbit when release pushed to sonarr
LSL1337:

o|RecycleBinProvider|Recycling Bin has not been configured, deleting permanently. /downloads/S

It’s currently named BTN. I now renamed it to the full name now, and I will see what happens tomorrow. If it still fails to push the seeding targets, I will enable trace debug and keep fishing. Thanks!

Sonarr not sending seeding time to qbit when release pushed to sonarr Definitely turn on trace logging.

Do you have an indexer named exactly BTN configured in Sonarr?

Sonarr not sending seeding time to qbit when release pushed to sonarr Sonarr version (exact version): 4.0.16.2944 (-ls303 by [linuxserver.io])
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): .NET Yes (6.0.13)
OS: Unraid 7.2.2, sonarr running in LS.io docker
Debug logs:
Description of issue:
Release pushed from autobrr (from IRC Announce) to sonarr than to qbit. In case of BTN, it doesn’t push the set ratio and seeding limits to sonarr. [History: Release Source: Release Push]
In case of HDB (also via IRC announce), it pushes the set seed time and ratio limits to qbit 5.1.4.

When RSS sync gets a release from BTN (IRC disconnected), it also pushes the right seeding targets to qbit.
Conclusion: only IRC push from BTN to sonarr to qbit has the missing seeding targets. Every other case, it works fine.

Seed time and ratio is set for both indexers for both episodes and seasons in sonarr. Could this be part of the API push from autobrr to sonarr? Or these limits are 100% governed by sonarr? In case of HDB, they work as they are set by sonarr. Can even this behaviour be overwritten by the API push message?
Thank you!

ps: not much in the logs, should I turn on trace?

skyhook url not working TheTVDB’s API is returning conflicting information for this series. I’ve pushed a change to Skyhook to resolve this and it’s returning the series correctly again.
