About the challenge
Are you a gamer? Perhaps you always wanted to try out making your own games, but never found the right opportunity to do so? CISSA’s GameJam is a short, casual hackathon over the weekend of O-week where you will have the opportunity to learn about game development and compete against other aspiring game developers for attractive prizes!
With workshops conducted by our education team, and free food provided throughout, we guarantee you will have a blast!

FAQs
Who can attend?
GameJam is open to all, but only University of Melbourne students, or teams with at least one University of Melbourne student are eligible for prizes.
What is the team size?
Teams of up to 3 are allowed.
What software will I be using?
You are free to use any software, but for simplicity, we will be using GameMaker for the introduction to game development workshop on the 17th of February.
I’m a complete beginner, should I participate?
Absolutely! This GameJam is an excellent opportunity to get started in game development, and we even have an introductory workshop to guide you through the process of creating your first game!
Will food be provided?
Yes, food and refreshments will be provided throughout the hackathon.
How do I submit my project?
Submissions will be done through Devpost, with your code being shared through GitHub (make sure your repository is public). You and your team will also be invited to demonstrate your game in a short video presentation.
When is the Intro to Game Development workshop?
The workshop will be held on the 17th of February, 2 pm-4 pm, at Alan Gilbert G20 (TBC). Do drop by if you want to learn more about GameMaker!

What to Submit
When submitting your project to our hackathon, please ensure to include the following:
1. Demo Video: A compelling and concise video demonstrating your project in action. This video should highlight key features, gameplay mechanics, and any unique aspects of your game or interactive experience. It should be publically available and can be uploaded on YouTube, Vimeo, and Drive.
2. Code Repository: Link to repositories containing your project's source code. This allows judges to review your codebase and assess the technical aspects of your project.
3. Running Guide: A step-by-step guide on how to run your project locally. This should include instructions on setting up any dependencies, compiling the code (if applicable), and launching the game or interactive experience.
4. Project Title and Description: A clear and concise title for your project, along with a brief description outlining its concept, gameplay mechanics, and any noteworthy features.
5. Team Members: List the members of your team and their respective roles in the project.
6. Technology Stack: Details about the technologies, frameworks, and tools used to develop your project.
7. Challenges Faced: Any challenges or obstacles you encountered during development and how you addressed them.
8. Accomplishments: Highlight any notable achievements or aspects of your project that you're particularly proud of.
9. Future Plans: Discuss any future plans for expanding or improving your project beyond the hackathon.
