Astuto is now officially unmantained.

I developed Astuto in 2016 as my bachelor degree thesis in Computer Engineering. I decided to sponsor it on Reddit and Product Hunt, and it received some positive feedback and traction. In the following years, I sparingly added some new features. In 2024 I decided to try to make a small SaaS business out of Astuto. The intention was to experiment and see whether I could really put a software in production and run subscriptions: I knew the market was saturated by customer feedback tools like Astuto. In fact, the company run for less than a year, in 2024. I basically did not sponsor it and in total I had 3 customers :)

I am very grateful for everything that I've been able to learn while developing Astuto. Ruby on Rails, React, Redux, Docker, GitHub Actions, nginx, OAuth workflow, webhooks, production automation, Stripe payments, setting up a business in Italy. I know it's not rocket science, some may even say it's just a CRUD website after all. But I'm happy with it.

However, the project started a lot of years ago, and it now feels boring to me. I think I got the most out of it, and I want to spend my spare time with projects that give me more enthusiasm.

I think that Astuto is a pretty simple customer feedback tool, but it has mostly all basic features needed. However, there are certainly better alternatives, both in terms of features offered and open source support. If you're looking for another open source customer feedback tool, I suggest Fider: https://github.com/getfider/fider

I want to thank every customer, contributor and translator, and also every person that installed or used Astuto! It meant a lot to me!

Hopefully we will meet again in the future, on other interesting projects :) keep on building fun stuff guys, even if it's just for ourselves and useless!
