Description
Inspired by https://discuss.avogadro.cc/t/policy-on-ai-llm-contributions/7172/6 and OpenChemistry/avogadrolibs#2606 and recent interaction with agents (#1746 (comment), #1747, #1748) 1, we need to come up with something. We are all burned out to varying degrees working on this project and even if we aren't going to take the policy of "swatting all flies" there needs to be guidelines who want to use these tools more seriously and in good faith.
Since I'm being forced to use agents for work, I'm "trying" to educate myself on how the policies Geoff came up with can apply here. The problem I have is this project taught me pretty much everything I know about open source and I don't want the allowance of performance enhancing tools (cough) to prevent that from happening for other people, as unlikely as that may be.
I'm pinning this issue so others can clearly see our discussion. Air your thoughts/opinions/grievances/... here.

I suspect this is only because I labeled the issue with "good-first-issue". This project is too small and niche to otherwise be noticed. ↩
