TextField text reappears after calling TextEditingController.clear with Japanese text input #99652

Steps to Reproduce
- Execute
flutter runon the code sample - Type in some Japanese character.
- Pressing Clear button (which calls
TextEditingController.clear()) - The text in the TextField gets cleared, but reappears after typing some more characters.
Expected results:
The text gets cleared completely.
Actual results:
The text remains in the TextField.
