For consistency with the migration to WidgetState, consider renaming this field to widgetStates and the associated methods (updateMaterialState, setMaterialState, etc.) to use WidgetState in their names (e.g., updateWidgetState). This would make the mixin's API clearer and more consistent with the rest of the framework's migration. This would require updating consumers of this mixin, such as RawMaterialButton, within this PR.

I vote we keep the materialState here. If we want to change this, we should create WidgetStateMixin and deprecate this class

Noted for the property materialStates.
To confirm, you're suggesting to revert the changes of this file and use the type MaterialState instead of WidgetState, right?

We can change the Type to WidgetState which is not a breaking change, but we should keep the property name in tack.
It doesn't worth it to break this class just to update the property name.
