This is the only diff from the previous version.
The if statement seems unnecessary and I'll try to remove it in an upcoming PR.

Thanks! Looking forward to having this in the 1.22.3 release. #66144 is really the stopper of our project being upgraded to 1.22. May I ask do have a plan of cherry-picking this fix into beta / stable channel? @renyou @justinmc . https://github.com/flutter/flutter/wiki/Flutter-Cherrypick-Process

This reverts commit a57f45e. Passed on TGP (the failures seem unrelated).
Description
Revert the whitespaceformatter change. It will be updated in a followup PR (that updates input formatter logic).
