I am a Computer Science and Cognitive Systems (Linguistics) student at UBC.
I completed a 1-year exchange at the University of Tokyo, during which many of my current research interests were born.
I also like teaching! I have TA'd for Japanese (JAPN100, JAPN200) and Computer Science in programming (CPSC110, CPSC210), algorithmic design (CPSC320), and distributed systems (CPSC416). During my time in Japan, I served as an English Conversation Tutor for children aged 5-12.
I am interested in the intersection of computer science and linguistics, and wish to explore how linguistic theory can be applied to create meaningful language technologies. I am particularly keen towards applying formal methods / logic in NLP.
In my free time, I enjoy learning languages and engaging in intercultural communications. I am fluent in Japanese, proficient in Mandarin, and can still read some French.
