Force software rendering on devices that need it
This allows Megapixels to work again without any manual configuration on devices like the original Pine64 PinePhone and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Note that large part of the code is just copied from dcp.c. I tried to generalise it at first, but it ended up being non-trivial to make a generalised version of this code so I decided against it given the rule of three.

Seems to still reproduce.
I had completely forgotten about this merge request
Even on immutable distributions, /etc is typically writeable.
Only if configured that way, and that configuration does not have submissions enabled by default in most distros, and it also is not runtime configurable through e.g. D-Bus.
Couldn't the app encourage users to make this change themselves? Alternatively, I guess it could be written at runtime via pkexec? (of course with user consent)
And now 0.20.1 is out to fix a terrible regression!
0.20 is out which includes support for configuring the Android boot image name.
