Topic

AR glasses are coming, they will have computer vision and amazing recording sensors, they will be running browsers in social WebXR. Who will control this future? We want to show an open source framework. Making a 3D space you're in complete control of should be easy. The web provides the right context and tool to create natural integrations to existing platforms, that works across all devices and performs as well as native apps.

We are web and interactive creators who have been making open tools in this emerging space. Ethereal Engine to push the limit on what is possible on the web, in a way that's easy as starting a blog or video feed. Our ecosystem of libraries and projects enables developers to use a modular set of tools to gradually migrate into the immersive future.

Ethereal Engine is an end-to-end framework for the web, built on popular Javascript frameworks. Scalable multiplayer infrastructure with voice, video, expressive avatars, a visual editor and portals between worlds. Build your own games and social experiences and link them together.

Description

Please describe the nature of your session activity

Let's build a regional micro metaverse. We want to show everyone how to host their own distributed metaverse control plane on any computer using this open source GUI. We are bringing laptops with hosting tools to web worlds local to DWeb.

The plan is to:

  • spend 30 minutes showing eveyone how to run a metaverse server
  • followed by 15 minutes in our web studio making a little world
  • and 10-15 minutes playing in a social web 3d microverse hosted on one of the laptops

Hopes & dreams

Everyone makes something cool, we have an immersive experience and conversation together in our own microworld.
