@cde Did you have a look at this patch as well? https://paste.sr.ht/~dylanger/61e59a870c925d55ad90caced6a6c492b8e78d13
According to Dylanger Daly this is what made it work for him: https://github.com/microg/GmsCore/issues/897#issuecomment-1400276903
Hey @luk1337 The fp reader is working so much better with the larger area. I didn't have any issues with my finger getting recognized.
I'd strongly suggest to merge this change into the official build.
@luk1337 Did you already have a chance to start an experimental build?
I have my OP8Pro ready and test it. I think it's worth a try.
Hey @luk1337 I just compared the lit up portion of the FP reader on LOS and on stock OOS. It seems that the diameter on stock is about 150mm while it is only 110mm on LOS. I think this might be an issue to properly register the fp.
I could reproduce the issue on jef's latest PE13 release as well. He is using LOS20 as base afaik.
It's probably worth comparing the stock values to the ones in LOS.
Same issue when installing with root installer.
I have microG installed so GSF shouldn't be an issue but maybe something else isn't working as expected from the app.
Your guess with the check for GSF and HSM as fallback is probably correct.
@marchingon12 could you reproduce the issue?
Yeah, I first thought that I was maybe spoofing a Huawei device but since I didn't touch the setting it is still set to OnePlus7Pro-default. For testing purposes I changed it to reloaded_beryllium, logged out and back in again but still received the HMS variant of the app.
Not sure if this is a bug or not and if this is the right place to report such a thing.
I downloaded the app com.neonbanking.app from the Aurora Store and received an Huawei Message Service Core version of the app.
When I download the APK directly from the PlayStore a different variant of the app is being distributed using GMS instead of HMS.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.neonbanking.app&hl=en&gl=US
The version using GMS is installed.
The version using HSM is installed.
Open Aurora Store
Search for neon and choose neon - your account app
Download and install it
When launching the app a popup will appear that HMS Core is needed with this version
I assume that there are different variants of the app. The main question here is why is the one with HMS Core being distributed. I'd assume that it should take the PlayStore variante and not the AppGallery one.
