Design innovative solutions that address heat inequity using open data, user-friendly design and a technical approach that leverages local resources. 

What to Submit

Submit copies of your solutions efforts! Including your slide deck and other associated materials. If you are having trouble uploading your materials, let one fo the staff on-site know.

  • Quality of solution:
    Does it address the challenge? Does it outline the intended impact?
  • Innovation
    Proposed solution is innovative: outlines a better, faster, more efficient and effective ways to address the challenge
  • User friendly
    Proposed solution is user friendly: demonstrates a clear understanding of intuitive user-design and prioritizes the needs and preferences of the end-users, particularly those in the most communities most vulnerable to heat inequity
  • Technical Approach
    Proposed solution demonstrates a technical approach: demonstrates the best use of linked open data and digital technology that supports the challenge statement. Outlines the data analysis and programming tools involved
  • Quality of the final product
    Strategy is well thought out and shows clear understanding of city/user needs Explains how City of Kitchener might implement, share and scale the project here and in other cities Uses plain but compelling language to present the idea
