Snapchat Lens Provides New AR Advertising Opportunities]]> Snapchat recently made a significant announcement that is set to shake up the world of digital advertising. The popular social media platform is now offering augmented reality (AR) advertising opportunities for brands, opening up new possibilities for interactive and engaging marketing strategies. In the world of social media, Snapchat has been at the forefront of AR innovation with the app being particularly popular among younger demographics, especially Gen Z and millennials, making it a valuable platform for brands targeting these age groups.

With the introduction of AR advertising, brands now have the opportunity to leverage the technology to create immersive and memorable experiences for Snapchat users. One of the key advantages of AR advertising on Snapchat is the platform’s highly engaged user base. With millions of daily active users, Snapchat provides a massive audience for brands to showcase their AR experiences. Since the users are already familiar with and accustomed to using AR filters, they are more likely to engage with AR advertising from brands.

Instead of simply showcasing products in traditional ads, brands can now use AR to allow users to interact with their products in a whole new way. This comes in two primary forms:

 1. Interactive Lenses and Filters: Brands can design custom AR lenses and filters that users can engage with. For instance, a makeup brand might create a lens that allows users to virtually try on different products, or a car manufacturer could let users visualize a new vehicle in their driveway.
 2. Shoppable AR: One of the most exciting aspects is the integration of shopping capabilities within AR experiences. Users can interact with a product in AR and then seamlessly transition to purchasing it without leaving the app. This streamlines the path from engagement to conversion, making it easier for brands to drive sales.

What Does This Mean For Advertisers?

 1. Enhanced User Engagement: AR ads are inherently interactive, making them more engaging than traditional formats. Users are likely to spend more time with AR content, exploring and sharing their experiences, which can lead to higher brand recall and affinity.
 2. Targeting Younger Audiences: Given Snapchat’s strong user base among younger demographics, brands can effectively reach and resonate with these audiences. AR ads can be tailored to match the preferences and behaviors of Gen Z and millennials, who value innovation and interactive content.
 3. Creative Storytelling: AR provides a unique outlet for brands to tell their stories in new and compelling ways. Whether through gamified experiences, virtual try-ons, or immersive product showcases, brands can craft unique narratives that stand out in a crowded digital landscape.
 4. Increased Conversion Rates: The seamless integration of shoppable AR can significantly boost conversion rates. By allowing users to interact with and purchase products within the same experience, brands can reduce friction in the customer journey and drive more immediate sales.
 5. Valuable Data Insights: With detailed analytics, brands can gain insights into consumer behavior and preferences. This data can inform future campaigns, helping brands to continually improve their AR advertising strategies and achieve better results.

Snapchat’s exploration into augmented reality advertising is a game-changer for brands looking to captivate and convert younger audiences. By embracing AR technology, brands can create immersive and interactive experiences that resonate with consumers in a way that traditional advertising cannot. As AR technology continues to evolve, the possibilities for innovative advertising on Snapchat are virtually limitless, making it an essential platform for forward-thinking marketers.

HOW TO USE AUGMENTED REALITY IN MARKETING https://gravityjack.com/news/how-to-use-augmented-reality-in-marketing/ https://gravityjack.com/news/how-to-use-augmented-reality-in-marketing/#respond Thu, 23 May 2024 21:04:15 +0000 https://www.gravityjack.com/?p=2883 ... HOW TO USE AUGMENTED REALITY IN MARKETING]]>
Example of Esquire using AR in marketing

We will be the first to admit it. Augmented reality (AR) was a novelty –WAS being the imperative word here. The year was 2009, Gravity Jack was founded, words like ‘chillaxin’ were all of the rage (boss, the bee’s knees, or bussin’ — depending on what generation you’re from), and Esquire put AR in the news by having Robert Downey Jr. come to life on their magazine’s cover. Cool? Heck yes! But how many subscribers did Esquire gain because of the campaign? We’d venture to say not many.

Fast forward to today, augmented reality has transcended novelty status to become a game-changer in the world of marketing through dynamic, innovative solutions. Augmented reality’s capabilities have evolved from compelling gimmicks with short-term impact to tangible ROI for brands willing to invest in emerging technology. In a digital era where attention spans are more fleeting than Taylor Swift’s VMA acceptance speech (another 2009 callback, you’re welcome) and consumer expectations are higher than ever, AR presents a unique opportunity for businesses to stand out from the crowd and create meaningful connections with their audience.

PRODUCT VISUALIZATION

AR provides a unique bridge between online and in-store shopping experiences through product visualization. In the comfort of their homes, customers can now get a first-hand look at how a new couch looks in their living room or explore the features and functionality of a car in their driveway. These experiences cut out the guesswork in the decision-making process and enhance consumer confidence. Studies show that 71% of consumers would shop more often if they could use AR to try out products, highlighting the immense potential of AR in enhancing the shopping experience and boosting sales.

INTERACTIVE BRAND STORYTELLING

In the competitive landscape of marketing, capturing and retaining consumer attention is paramount. AR offers businesses a unique opportunity to tell their stories in interactive and engaging ways that result in memorable moments that resonate with their audience. Take, for example, a beverage company using AR to transport customers to the origin of their coffee beans or the vineyards where their grapes are grown. Through AR-powered experiences, customers can embark on virtual tours, learn about the brand’s sustainability efforts, and even participate in interactive quizzes or games—all while deepening their connection to the brand. By integrating gamification elements, AR transforms passive consumers into active participants, fostering a sense of ownership and loyalty.

Additionally, AR-powered advertisements can transform traditional marketing materials into interactive experiences. Imagine being handed a brochure and seeing an ad come to life, allowing you to explore a product from every angle or interact with virtual models showcasing its features. Such immersive experiences not only capture attention but also leave a lasting impression, increasing brand recall and engagement.

PERSONALIZED SHOPPING EXPERIENCES

Gone are the Don Draper (in case you were wondering Mad Men was on air in 2009) days of one-size-fits-all marketing approaches. Today’s consumers crave personalized experiences tailored to their individual preferences and needs. AR allows marketers to do just that by enabling personalized shopping experiences based on past interactions. This can come in the form of AR-powered virtual try-ons or personalized product recommendations based on user preferences — allowing businesses to create unique shopping journeys for each customer. Research shows that personalized experiences can drive a 20% increase in sales, underscoring the importance of catering to individual tastes and preferences.

ENHANCED BRAND ENGAGEMENT

Building a strong brand presence and fostering meaningful connections with customers is the cornerstone of successful marketing strategies and campaigns. AR does this in spades by offering a variety of opportunities to elevate brand engagement and create memorable interactions that leave a lasting impression on consumers. By tapping into the human desire for exploration and discovery, AR creates memorable moments that resonate long after the experience is over. When it comes to AR, this can be accomplished in several different ways; from interactive AR filters on social media platforms to location-based AR experiences, brands can create shareable moments that spark conversations and drive word-of-mouth marketing.

Ultimately, these brand engagement strategies revolving around AR contribute to long-term customer loyalty, which is essential for sustained profitability. By creating memorable and interactive experiences, brands can forge stronger connections with consumers, leading to increased customer retention and lifetime value. This loyalty translates into repeat purchases and positive word-of-mouth referrals. A marketer’s dream!

DATA-DRIVEN INSIGHTS AND ANALYTICS

The best part of marketing in 2024, is that we can decipher what customers like in real time. In the digital age, data is king, and AR is no exception. One of the most powerful aspects of AR marketing is its ability to gather valuable insights and analytics. By tracking user interactions, engagement metrics, and conversion rates, marketers can gain a deeper understanding of their audience’s behavior and preferences. This data can inform future marketing strategies, allowing businesses to optimize their AR experiences for maximum impact. With 65% of marketers citing data-driven decision-making as crucial to success, AR presents a valuable opportunity to harness the power of data in marketing efforts.

MAKE ROOM FOR AR

What may have started as an attention-grabbing novelty has evolved into anything but that; it’s a strategic investment that delivers long-lasting ROI, customer loyalty, and extended reach for investors.. 2009 has come and gone. Consumer expectations are sky-high and augmented reality is THE technology to set a new standard in marketing and advertising. AR initiatives create lasting value for businesses and shareholders alike. So, if you’re looking to maximize your marketing dollars and drive measurable results, finding room in your budget to include AR is a decision worth making.

Why WebAR Is Better For Your Business https://gravityjack.com/news/why-webar-is-better-for-your-business/ https://gravityjack.com/news/why-webar-is-better-for-your-business/#respond Wed, 08 May 2024 21:24:05 +0000 https://www.gravityjack.com/?p=2873 ... Why WebAR Is Better For Your Business]]> Augmented reality may be a powerful tool to engage customers, enhance marketing efforts, and drive sales, but many businesses can’t afford to front the cost of a custom AR application. These projects can range anywhere from $25-$50k+, and while it will eventually pay off with higher conversions and greater customer satisfaction, that’s no small bill in the short term. Cue WebAR. Web-based augmented reality has emerged as the perfect middle ground for businesses wanting to stay ahead of the curve and reach new levels of engagement without requiring a specialized app. Let’s explore why WebAR can be a budget-friendly and highly effective medium for results for your business.

Accessibility and Instant Engagement

One of the biggest advantages of WebAR is its accessibility. Unlike traditional AR experiences that require users to download and install specific apps, WebAR can be accessed directly through a web browser. This means that users can engage with AR content instantly and on the go with just a few clicks, without the need for any additional software or installations. By removing barriers to entry, WebAR opens up new opportunities for businesses to reach a wider audience and drive engagement. Whether you’re showcasing products in an e-commerce store, providing virtual tours of real estate properties, or offering interactive games and entertainment, WebAR makes it easy for users to engage with your content and immerse themselves in your brand experience.

Best Conversions

Because WebAR does not require consumers to download an app or take extra steps, the technology is a powerful tool for converting passive browsers into active consumers. WebAR transforms mindless doom scrolling into real engagement by offering the consumer interactive experiences within their traditional e-commerce setting. Features like “try before you buy”, product customization, and gamification of the shopping experience all work to elevate the consumer’s journey and create a lasting impression.

Seamless Integration

Another key benefit of WebAR is its seamless integration within existing marketing streams. Whether you’re looking to incorporate AR into your website, social media channels, digital marketing campaigns, or even physical assets, WebAR can easily be integrated into your existing presence using QR codes, short links, or direct links. From SMS marketing and digital ads to billboards and signage, WebAR makes it easier for businesses to leverage the power of AR across multiple channels and instantly deliver immersive experiences to their audience, wherever they are.

Cost-Effectiveness

Developing traditional AR apps can be time-consuming and expensive, requiring businesses to invest significant resources in app development, maintenance, and promotion. In contrast, WebAR offers a more cost-effective solution, allowing businesses to create AR experiences using standard web development tools and frameworks. With WebAR, businesses can save time and money while still delivering engaging AR content to their audience.

Analytics and Insights

With WebAR, businesses can gain valuable insights into user behavior and engagement through built-in analytics tools. By tracking metrics such as user interactions, dwell time, and conversion rates, businesses can better understand their audience and optimize their AR experiences for maximum impact. This data-driven approach allows businesses to continuously improve their AR content and drive better results over time.

Conclusion

In conclusion, WebAR offers numerous advantages for businesses looking to harness the power of augmented reality. From driving conversions and engaging passive consumers to saving resources and streamlining marketing efforts, WebAR provides a versatile and effective solution for businesses of all sizes. By embracing WebAR, businesses can create immersive brand experiences, reach new audiences, and stay ahead of the competition in today’s ever-evolving digital landscape. Augmented Reality Marketing Campaigns You Need To Know About https://gravityjack.com/news/augmented-reality-marketing-campaigns-you-need-to-know-about/ https://gravityjack.com/news/augmented-reality-marketing-campaigns-you-need-to-know-about/#respond Mon, 29 Apr 2024 21:18:01 +0000 https://www.gravityjack.com/?p=2855 ... Augmented Reality Marketing Campaigns You Need To Know About]]> We’re living in a time where consumers have the attention span of a goldfish, and who can blame them when they are constantly presented with thousands of options and endlessly stimulating content? As business owners, though, this level of marketing can feel overwhelming when trying to make your brand stand out among thousands of competitors vying for attention from the same demographic. We all dream of having that one marketing campaign that everyone is buzzing about, be it the Super Bowl commercial that breaks the internet or the slogan that sticks with you for decades…Got Milk anyone?

We might be a little biased but…we think augmented reality marketing campaigns are the next big thing. Actually, we know they’re the next big thing. The “metaverse”, a world where the digital is constantly interacting with the physical, is just around the corner, and we want to make sure people like you are well-positioned to spearhead the next wave of digital marketing.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, when it comes to providing value, AR doesn’t discriminate by industry. From entertainment and tech to food and retail, augmented reality marketing allows for new levels of customer engagement and brand awareness.

Let’s take a look at how some of the most influential brands are using AR technology to create powerful and impactful advertising campaigns.

Integrate augmented reality into your marketing campaigns

ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

Augmented reality offers the entertainment industry the chance to engage consumers like never before, with interactive experiences facilitating new levels of immersion in cinematic worlds.

Warner Bros + Snapchat Campaign for Dune 2

As if a movie starring two of the world’s most beautiful people with an absolutely fire soundtrack even needs an engaging marketing campaign (Zendaya and Timothée we would watch paint dry if you were on-screen, too); Warner Bros still went the extra mile by teaming up with Snap to develop a custom AR Lens for Dune 2 that allows users to become Fremen and ride a sand worm. Additionally, the collab developed Cameo stickers to add to posts, demonstrating an innovative use of user-generated content to market the highly anticipated film.

Fun fact: Snapchat users are almost twice as likely to see a movie on opening weekend than non-Snapchat users, and we know that AR plays a huge role in this staggering box office boost.

Warner Bros & Mattel for Barbenheimer

The Barbenheimer phenomenon was bigger news than when the Pentagon confirmed that aliens exist, and while that may be a sad commentary on our societal values, for the purposes of this blog we’re choosing to focus on the bright side and just credit Warner Bros and Mattel’s mad marketing skills.

While Cilian Murphy and Margot Robbie are almost as beloved as Timothée and Zendaya, and Margot’s outfits served a completely fabulous blend of the nostalgia of Barbie’s past and a modern femme fatale, the genius of the Barbenheimer campaigns extend far beyond star power.

Both companies employed an innovative use of AR and AI technology to market their respective films (which we love to see at Gravity Jack, considering we were the first to combine AR and AI for the Department of Defense), offering consumers a first class ticket into both the whimsical and vibrant world of Barbie and the haunting past that birthed the atomic bomb.

From interactive games and websites to social media filters, Warner Bros and Mattel will go down in history for their strategic and immersive augmented reality experiences that flooded theaters in an era dominated by streaming services.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY

Beyond just entertainment, augmented reality has proven itself a powerful tool for engaging consumers and creating brand recall.

Starbucks Kindness Campaign
Starbucks Implemented Augmented Reality

Starbucks warmed everyone’s hearts in the summer of 2023 by introducing an AR experience called “Kindness” that encouraged users to leave uplifting notes for people via digital overlay. Doesn’t that just make your morning Starbies a whole lot sweeter?

That isn’t the first time Starbucks has used AR in their marketing strategies. The company also introduced interactive AR features on their holiday cups, with each design springing to life with a different AR effect.

Heinz Recipe Book

This one is an oldy but a goody, and we have to include it because two of our professional pals take center stage! Heinz, a Gravity Jack client, and Blippar, a London-based augmented reality company that licenses Gravity Jack’s AR tech, partnered up to create an augmented reality experience all the way back in 2011! Which means everyone else has spent the last decade trying to Ketch-up to Heinz’ cutting edge marketing strategies.

Users could scan a ketchup bottle to unlock a recipe book featuring numerous family favorites that star good ol’ ketchup. It may seem simple now but this was one of the first campaigns that embraced custom AR experiences…or should we say customato. Okay, we’re done.

Furniture is a great AR marketing example

RETAIL INDUSTRY

Last but certainly not least, there has never been a more dynamic duo than augmented reality and retail. We would compare them to Ross and Rachel but they’d never go on a break. AR was practically made for retail, giving consumers the opportunity to “try before they buy” and see how products look on them or in their spaces.

IKEA Kreativ

The iconic IKEA has been a long adopter of augmented reality experiences, launching IKEA Place back in 2017. Their most recent effort, Kreativ, allows users to fully design and visualize their living spaces with IKEA furnishings. This one is for the girlies who measure spaces using solely your own limbs – you never have to worry about whether that credenza will fit in that weird hallway nook again!

Christian Dior

This oh-so-chic designer is no stranger to augmented reality marketing, embracing the technology for multiple product releases. Their most recent AR campaign focused on their Dior Addict Lipstick, integrating a “try it on” option within video advertisements for the product in the Middle East.

In the past, Dior has employed the use of social media filters to try on new apparel items, most notably their campaign for Dior-ID, a sneaker that launched in 2021.

CONCLUSION

Augmented reality (AR) marketing campaigns offer a fresh approach to engage audiences in immersive and interactive experiences. Whether it’s the entertainment industry utilizing custom AR lenses and stickers to promote blockbuster films like “Dune: Part Two” or brands like Starbucks and Heinz creating memorable AR campaigns to connect with customers, AR marketing has proven to be a game-changer in driving brand awareness and customer engagement.

Across various sectors, from retail to food and beverage, AR technology is revolutionizing the way businesses interact with consumers. With AR, brands can offer customers unique and personalized experiences, such as visualizing furniture in their homes before purchase or trying on products virtually. At Gravity Jack, we’re passionate about helping businesses harness the power of AR marketing to create memorable experiences that captivate audiences and drive brand success in the digital age. Building an AI Data Room for Investors. Introducing InvestoBot https://gravityjack.com/news/building-an-ai-data-room-for-investors-introducing-investobot/ https://gravityjack.com/news/building-an-ai-data-room-for-investors-introducing-investobot/#respond Sun, 28 Apr 2024 00:57:22 +0000 https://www.gravityjack.com/?p=2852 ... Building an AI Data Room for Investors. Introducing InvestoBot]]> If you hadn’t heard, Gravity Jack recently announced the launch of InvestoBot – a completely AI-powered data room for potential investors. The platform provides a dynamic, conversational interface to engage stakeholders and answer questions about the investment opportunity. It offers all the benefits of a traditional data room without requiring investors to schedule meetings, travel, or carve out valuable time in busy schedules. We believe that this innovative approach to due diligence will indelibly change the investment landscape for the better, so here’s our “How To” guide for replicating our process and enhancing communication and data management for your stakeholders.

THE CONCEPT

InvestoBot was created to facilitate meaningful interactions for investors interested in Gravity Jack and our latest project, WarTribe of Binyamin. Unlike virtual data rooms (VDRs) that act as a static repository of information, InvestoBot uses AI to deliver a humanlike conversational experience, delivering intelligent and natural responses to a wide array of investor inquiries. You can ask it questions like: “Who are the largest shareholders on your cap table?, Who is on your board? What motivated the founders to start the company? What are gross revenues projected to be Year 5?, etc.”

THE PROCESS

We started the process for InvestoBot by making a ChatGPT AI assistant using OpenAI’s assistant API platform. After training the AI we developed and designed a custom frontend for investors to engage with InvestoBot in an intuitive and branded environment.

STEP 1: ESTABLISHING IDENTITY

To make InvestoBot truly representative of Gravity Jack, we began by embedding the company’s ethos into the AI. This involved training the chatbot with extensive documentation on our company history, voice, and style. We focused on ensuring that InvestoBot produced valuable responses that sounded like Gravity Jack’s founders were behind the screen. This required dedicated time spent tweaking its language and curtailing the AI’s natural verbosity to keep the chat feeling conversational rather than like an FAQ section on a website.

STEP 2: TRAINING ON TARGETED CONTENT

Initially, we provided the AI assistant with massive amounts of data and documentation on Gravity Jack, everything from our books and portfolio to our email marketing and blogs. This initial broad-spectrum data approach proved too general, leading to unhelpful and disorganized outputs.

We pivoted by researching and identifying the top 50 questions investors frequently ask, then created a master document that topically categorized these queries and their detailed answers (marketing, team, financial, etc) to train the AI on providing precise answers that cross reference relevant information. We made sure that each question in the document was rephrased multiple times to account for different investors asking questions in different ways, and while it may seem like this was overkill and the AI should be able to interpret different conversational nuances, this extra step proved very valuable in the long run.

After training InvestoBot to produce responses based solely on the master document, we added back all the data that we initially dumped into the AI as supplemental documentation. That way, the AI could provide concise and relevant responses to investor queries while still occasionally referencing supplemental documentation if necessary or appropriate.

STEP 3: ENHANCING CONVERSATIONAL ABILITIES

After establishing identity and training the AI on necessary information, we moved toward fine tuning InvestoBot and enhancing its interactivity. We programmed the chatbot to ask follow-up questions to foster deeper engagement, ensure satisfactory responses, and mimic human dialogue. This step also involved steering the AI away from unhelpful responses like “I don’t know” or “that data is not available” and instead offering proactive alternatives and directing queries to specific contacts when needed.

THE TECH STACH

After successfully training and polishing InvestoBot, we moved to developing a frontend user interface for investors to comfortably engage with the system. InvestoBot is underpinned by a robust technical architecture:

Front End: Developed with Angular, this interface facilitates user interaction, presenting information clearly and efficiently.

API: Our .NET Core API orchestrates the processing of queries and communication between the front end and database.

Database: An MS SQL database securely stores all necessary data, ensuring quick and reliable data retrieval.

GOTCHAS & SOLUTIONS

Outside of typical development challenges, our team experiences several main obstacles while creating a frontend for InvestoBot:

Response Duplication: Initially, OpenAI’s API system would send duplicate responses to questions. We ended up creating our own custom software to prevent this from happening.

Formatting Challenges: Some of the responses were coming back in code, which is obviously not digestible or helpful for potential stakeholders. We developed a syntax controller that translates markdown into a rich text experience to ensure that responses were legible and natural.

CONCLUSION

While the development process was naturally full of troubleshooting and problem solving, InvestoBot has already proven to be an incredibly valuable tool for our shareholders and interested investors. The team here at Gravity Jack believes that this cutting edge development offers a unique solution to many of the challenges in the investment landscape, and provides businesses seeking funding an innovative way to reach more stakeholders without depreciating relational value. Creating an AI-powered deal room requires a blend of technical skill, strategic content planning, and a deep understanding of the target audience, but produces tremendously worthwhile results. By following these guidelines and remaining aware of potential pitfalls, businesses can develop effective investment chatbots that transform stakeholder interactions, providing not just answers but engaging and meaningful dialogues.
