We are excited to introduce the next phase in our Pressure Independent Product Line, the PIM™-A. The PIM-A joins the PIM product family as an adjustable pressure regulator that can maintain a constant pressure differential across ANYTHING! With a wide PSID range of 4-25 PSID it can be used to maintain a constant pressure differential across an existing control valve, a coil, a branch or any other piece of equipment. Simply dial in the desired PSID with an allen key and the equipment will have a constant PSID regardless of system pressure changes.

Griswold Controls introduces Pinnacle Valve

Pinnacle Valve is a pressure independent actuated valve. This compact zone valve incorporates pressure independent technology to control the flow regardless of pressure fluctuations in the system. The Pinnacle’s higher close off pressures make it ideal for applications where traditional zone valves are prohibited.

GRISWOLD CONTROLS INTRODUCES CERAMIC DISC TECHNOLOGY TO HVAC INDUSTRY

Griswold Controls is excited to announce the launch of the QuickDisc® manual balance valve. This valve combines a traditional venturi for flow measurement with a ceramic disc never before used in the HVAC market. Ceramic discs have been used for years in the plumbing industry and are a perfect option to replace the more expensive ball valve typically used in HVAC.

Please view this video which shows the disc’s movement and explains the benefits of the QuickDisc®.

QuickDisc® valves are available in 1/2” and 3/4” sizes, with or without unions. This product complements the current 1/2” to 18” QuickSet® manual balance valve offering.

Have you ever wished you could repair a leaking valve in the field without having to remove the valve from the system? Have you ever had problems with chemical treatments in HVAC systems destroying valve components? Have you had issues with hotter soldering practices mandated by legislation that eliminates the use of lead-based or other soft soldering materials damaging the stem o-ring and packing materials? If so, then Griswold Controls’ Next Generation products are the answer you have been looking for.

Griswold Controls’ evolutionary line of products featuring our patent pending field repairable stem design address these problems and reflect a response to changes taking place in processes within the HVAC industry that can impact product performance. One issue contractors and end users have been dealing with for years is fixing leaks, a common occurrence with valves from major manufacturers to the smaller niche players. Griswold Controls is the only full-line major manufacturer with a solution for this problem.

Another issue facing contractors and end users is that the chemicals used to treat HVAC systems have changed. Treatment programs often include azole compounds that are not compatible with EPDM. In addition, many installers are required to use hotter materials and torches, and due to time constraints may not be able to close the ball on the valve and use a heat sink in accordance with written installation instructions when sweating in products. This practice can damage stem o-rings and packing material. Griswold Controls’ Next Generation products offer protection for their valves from both the use of chemicals in the systems and current soldering practices.

Next Generation products have addressed a need long unmet in the industry – offering an enhancement to product serviceability and at the same time answering the changing environment. Next Generation products provide:

  • External stem accessibility allowing for field servicing without having to remove the valve
  • Safeguards against the chemical treatments used in many of today’s HVAC systems.
  • Protection from temperature fluctuations following an evening shutdown.
  • Resistance to legislated hotter soldering requirements

With their resistance to various chemical compounds found in closed HVAC systems, their ability to address the hotter soldering requirements in many communities, and their field repairable stem design, our Next Generation products are true “preferred specification” products. No competitor has both the repairable dual seals (Griswold Controls has two Teflon® seals and one EPDM o-ring) combined with a grease reservoir (Griswold Controls has a grease reservoir that maintains lubrication on the EPDM seals to extend their life). The product you need is only available from Griswold Controls, “Field repairable stem with both Teflon seals and an EPDM o-ring”. The Next Generation products are proving to be just what the market ordered.

In the early 1990’s FlowCon International introduced the world’s first PICV, eventually sold in the United States as the MVP Valve. The MVP valve, and PICV’s in general, have heavily impacted the HVAC industry and become known for the superior functionality, energy savings, and durability. It is therefore with great pride that Griswold Controls introduces new features in the MVP product line:

  • MVP is now available up to 10” in size with a maximum flowrate of 1220 gpm.
  • We are now offering BACnet actuators, compatible with BACnet protocol, for all size MVP valves.
  • A weather box is now available to protect the actuator during outdoor installations that are down to 14F.
  • The PSID ranges have been expanded to allow for flow control at lower PSID conditions.

Griswold Controls is excited to launch the new EPIC System The EPIC System measures energy usage while monitoring coil performance to adjust a Pressure Independent (PI) Control Valve to optimize coil performance. The PI Valve maintains the correct flow, in spite of pressure changes, and guarantees the flow only changes when demand requirements change or Delta T is outside of specification.

The pressure transducers measure upstream and downstream pressure allowing the Building Management System (BMS) to reduce system pressures to save pump energy when pressure drop is higher than the PI valve’s requirements.

The Griswold EPIC Controller calculates the BTU and displays the data on an Android and iPhone mobile devices.

For more information on the EPIC Systems, and to view literature on this product, please visit https://www.griswoldcontrols.com/hvac-valves/pressure-independent-valves/.
