Grand Tech Assembly (GTA) is a 7-day global online Game Jam where chaos meets creativity. Styled after the nostalgia and sandbox freedom of Grand Theft Auto — but without the crime — this jam is all about missions, mods, and mayhem.
From scrappy 2D meme games to cursed glitch experiments and polished indie prototypes, every entry becomes a story inside the Maximally “city.”
Your job? Pick your mission, build your game, complete side quests, and earn respect.
Whether you’re a first-time builder, a no-code tinkerer, or an indie dev chasing Steam-ready polish, GTA is your open world.
📅 When: Nov 1–7, 2025 (100% online, via Devpost + Discord)
🏆 Why join: prizes, awards, chaos, memes, and a city full of builders
🌍 Who can play: anyone, anywhere — solo or in squads up to 4
This isn’t just another jam. It’s a sandbox for experimentation. A chance to build weird, funny, ambitious, or broken-but-brilliant games in true GTA spirit.
So load your mission brief, roll into the city, and ship something unforgettable.

Results: revealed at Grand Indian Hackathon Ceremony (mid-November)
This hackathon is part of the Grand Indian Hackathon Season (GIHS) — a three-month sprint featuring 10 unique hackathons.
All prizes feed into an ever-expanding season-wide prize pool, currently at ₹17,00,000. Each hackathon has its own winners and shoutouts, but the bigger rewards are revealed at the Grand Indian Hackathon Ceremony in November, where the best projects from across all events are celebrated together.
Because the prize pool grows as we bring in more partners, sponsors, and communities, we encourage participants to join the Discord server for the latest updates on prizes, collabs, and surprise drops throughout the season.
Requirements
- Link to your build (GitHub, Notion, Figma, etc.)
- Link to the original project you based it on
- Short write-up: what changed and why it’s better
- Optional: 1–2 min demo video

Judging Criteria
-
Originality
Does the game bring something fresh to the table? We’re looking for bold ideas, unexpected twists, and creative risks — whether that’s a cursed glitch, a wild mechanic, or a storyline that screams GTA chaos. -
Execution / Playability
How well does the build actually work? It doesn’t have to be perfect or bug-free, but the game should feel playable, with a clear loop or experience that keeps us engaged. Even duct-taped prototypes can shine if the execution holds together. -
Creativity
How inventive is the approach? From no-code hacks to advanced engines, we’re judging the ingenuity of your build. Did you stretch your tools, remix genres, or bend the rules to ship something fun and surprising -
Gut Feeling (the GTA factor)
Does it have that raw GTA-style energy? The vibe matters — chaotic, nostalgic, and memorable. If your game makes us laugh, rage, or wonder “why does this exist but I love it,” you’ve nailed this one.
