About the challenge

An 8-hour hackathon organized in partnership with Major League Hacking and Google Gemini. This hackathon is supported by the Lomé Business School Tech Communities Club and the Linux Open Source Lovers community. The aim of this hackathon is to introduce participants to the use of the Google Gemini API in projects.

 

Requirements

What to Build

Build something fun that solves a local problem that you yourself have identified here in Togo or Africa using the Google Gemini API. You are free to use the programming languages of your choice. 

What to Submit

You will submit a project using the Google Gemini API that will solve a problem that you have identified yourself.

Judging Criteria

  • Local impact and relevance
    The suitability of the solution to the theme and local context. Clarity of the local problem targeted and its importance. Relevance and transformative potential of the solution for the community. Feasibility of adoption and real impact.
  • Innovation & Creativity
    The originality of the approach and the novelty of the solution. Is the solution new or does it represent a significant improvement? Creative and intelligent use of technology to solve the problem.
  • Technical Implementation
    The quality, robustness, and progress of the prototype. Functionality and robustness of the code (even if it is an MVP). Relevance of the chosen technology (Google Gemini API) Quality of the user experience (UX) of the prototype.
  • Pitch & Presentation
    The clarity, conciseness, and conviction of the final pitch. Clarity in presenting the problem, the solution, and the impact. Ability to demonstrate how the prototype works. Convincing articulation of the project's future vision.
