Hack Hayward - Hackathon Rules

  • Hacking starts at 9:00AM PT on March 1st and ends at 10:00AM PT on March 2nd. Late submissions will be cut off.

 

Eligibility:
  • The hackathon is open to all.
  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be registered on GDG Hack Hayward.
Teams:
  • Max team size of 4.
  • Teams can be formed before or during the hackathon.
  • Individual participants are also welcome.
  • Team members are expected to contribute fairly to the project.
Project Guidelines:
  • Projects must be built from scratch during the hackathon period.
  • Teams can use pre-existing libraries, frameworks, and publicly available APIs.
  • Projects should align with the hackathon track.
  • Projects must be functional and demonstrate a working prototype or proof of concept.
  • Projects must be original work created by the participating team.
  • Teams are responsible for ensuring they have the right to use all components of their project, including any third-party software or assets.
General:
  • Organizers reserve the right to modify these rules at any time.
  • Any changes will be communicated to participants.
  • Participation in the hackathon implies acceptance of these rules.

Code of Conduct

  • Our hackathon is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment and harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of hackathon participants in any form. Hackathon participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the hackathon at the discretion of the hackathon organizers.
