Rules

Please review the following rules carefully before participating in HACKHAZARDS '26.

Eligibility

• The hackathon is open to participants worldwide.
• Participants must be at least 13 years old at the time of registration.
• Individuals may participate solo or in teams of up to 4 members.
• Each participant can only be part of one team.

Project Requirements

• All projects must be created during the hackathon period (May 1 – June 30, 2026).
• Pre-existing code, libraries, frameworks, and open-source tools may be used but must be properly disclosed.
• Submissions must include original work created by the team.
• Teams may submit only one project.

Submission Guidelines

To qualify for judging, each submission must include:

• A clear project description
• A demo video explaining the project
• A public source code repository (GitHub, GitLab, or similar)
• Screenshots or visual demonstrations of the project
• A list of technologies used

Submissions that do not meet these requirements may not be considered for judging.

Intellectual Property

• Participants retain full ownership of the intellectual property they create during the hackathon.
• By submitting a project, participants grant the organizers the right to showcase the project for promotional and educational purposes.

Judging

Projects will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on:

• Innovation and creativity
• Technical complexity and implementation
• Impact and usefulness
• User experience and design
• Quality of presentation and demo

All judging decisions are final and binding.

Code of Conduct

HACKHAZARDS is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.

Participants must:

• Treat others with respect and professionalism
• Avoid harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior
• Follow community guidelines during workshops, mentorship sessions, and online discussions

Any participant found violating the code of conduct may be disqualified and removed from the event.

Disqualification

The organizing team reserves the right to disqualify any participant or team that:

• Submits plagiarized or copied projects
• Violates hackathon rules
• Engages in harassment or inappropriate conduct
• Attempts to manipulate judging or voting systems

Changes to Rules

The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules, schedule, or prizes if necessary. Any updates will be communicated through the official hackathon channels.
